WARBALL !

Warball is based on the modern game of "dodge ball" which is played in schools.

The game is played on a rectangular field which is outlined by markers. The field is divided into equal halves by a board or line painted red. The field may be as big as neccessary depending on the number of players.

The game is played by two opposing teams. Each team is assigned one side of the field and may never cross the Red line that divides the field.

To play the game each player has a Warball and a shield.

The warball is a nerf or rubber ball covered in cloth and belted to form a tail.

The shield is a plastic, wood or metal buckler of no more than 12 inches in diameter. It has a hand strap, or bar, and padding on the back for one hand grasping.

The object of the game is to throw a warball and hit one of the opponants with it to try and eliminate him from the game. The side which eliminates all members of the opposing team, wins.

A hit to the head, chest, sternum, or back, eliminates immediately. The player must make a dramatic death and then leave the game.

A hit on the arms or shoulers eliminates that appendage. It must be held behind you. If a player looses the use of both arms, he may then use his feet to kick a ball from the ground, at an opposing player.

A hit on the buttocks, hips or legs, eliminates the leg on that side. If one leg is eliminated, you may hop on the other. If both legs are gone, you must go to your knees.

If the last surviving player or players, on a team have lost both legs and are on their knees, it is customary to ask them if they wish to "yield".

If a player looses both arms and both legs, he is eliminated.

The groin, face and neck are not targets and should not be aimed at on purpose. An accidental hit in these areas are invalid.

It is up to each player to decide how much body armor he or she would like to wear during the game. Hockey masks, groin guards, neck guards, etc.

The shield may be used to block or deflect thrown balls.

A thrown ball is "live" until it hits the ground. You may not catch it in midair and throw it back.

There is no time limit, and all balls are in play from the moment the game begins. Once they hit the ground, a ball on your side of the field, may be picked up and thrown back at the opposing players.

Players may move around within the confines of their half of the playing field. They may run, jump, dodge, etc to avoid a hit from the ball.

That's it. Have fun!
