Parents are not supposed to bury their children. It hurts.

Our loss, [their]r gain
[They've] gone ahead
We weep for us
Because [they're] dead
Where [they have] gone
Tears are not shed
There's only joy
There is no night
We'll join them soon
In heaven's light

The Mourner's Kaddish, one of a few types of Kaddish prayers, expresses the mourner's love of God and acceptance of God's will, even while the mourner is feeling great loss and sorrow over the death of a loved one.

Magnified and sanctified be G_d's great name in the world which He has created according to His will.
May He establish His kingdom soon, in our lifetime.
Let us say: Amen.

May His great name be praised to all eternity.
Hallowed and honored, extolled and exalted, adored and acclaimed be the name of the Holy One,
though He is above all the praises, hymns, and songs of adoration which men can utter.
Let us say: Amen.

May G_d grant abundant peace and life to us and to all Israel.
Let us say: Amen.

May He who ordains harmony in the universe grant peace to us and to all Israel.
Let us say: Amen.

For some people, the years we are allotted are not enough.
For others, they are too many.

I try not to grieve because they are gone ...
I try to remember to thank God that they were here.

***

Although we see through the glass now but dimly,
one day it will all be clear to us.

***

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;
and there shall be no more death,
neither sorrow, nor crying,
neither shall there be any more pain:
for the former things are passed away.

(Rev 21:4)

“Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed,
we have a building from God,
an eternal house in heaven,
not built by human hands.”

(2 Corinthians 5:1)

For now I just have to rest in these words:

"All things work together for the good
for those who love God."

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

***

I thought I saw your face today,
in the sparkle of the morning sun.
And then I heard the angel say,
"Their work on earth is done."

I thought that you had left me,
for the stars so far above.
And then I heard the angel say,
"They left you with their love."

I thought I heard your voice today,
then laugh your hearty laugh.
And then I heard the angel say,
"There's peace dear one at last."

I thought that I would miss you so,
and never find my way.
And then I heard the angel say,
"They're with you every day."

I thought I saw your face today,
in the sparkle of the morning sun.
And then I heard the angel say,
"Their work on earth is done."

"The sun, the wind, the moon, the stars,
will forever be around,
reminding you of the love you shared,
and the peace they've finally found."

I thought I saw my broken heart,
in the crescent of the moon.
And then I heard the angel say,
"The Lord is coming soon."

[I hope so, Kelly. I hope so!]
