NOTE: Not all sites listed under this heading advocate independence from the USA, but all contain (or contain links to) information about the former (and future?) Confederate States of America, and the current problems over the display of the Confederate flag.
There are serious debates over there having been Black Confederate Soldiers,, but it has been documented that there were Hispanic, Native American and even Jewish soldiers who fought for the Confederacy.
Also. the Hebrew Confederate Cemetery on Shockoe Hill in Richmond, Virginia, is the only Jewish military cemetery in the world outside of Israel.

Note: In the North, the war is commonly known as "The Civil War".
In the South, it is commonly known as "The War Between the States".
Also, many of these sites are programmed to play "Dixie" when opened.
"Dixie" (aka "I Wish I Was In Dixie Land") was written in 1859
by Daniel Decatur Emmett (1815-1904) for a traveling minstrel show.
There is serious doubt if the song was ever officially adopted as the CSA's national anthem.
Also, the Ohio-born Mr. Emmett was a staunch supporter of the Union.

Not a Confederate reconstructionist group, but a monthly ultra-conservative newsletter. While there a number of well-written and well-researched articles on this site (including a number of articles on the Confederate flag controvercy), the overall bias of the site is strongly anti-immigration and only hints at racism. Links promoting racist music by Skrewdriver, Brutal Attack and Bound For Glory were once on this site, but are now removed. AR seems to be changing it's image, being more racially aware than racist. However, the website has an enitre page devoted to anti-White statements made by Black celebrities (many out of context), so all I can say is "Caveat emptor." http://www.amren.com

"...founded in June 1992 as the FIRST southern nationalist organization, dedicated not only to preserving the Confederate heritage but to restoring the sovereignty of our nation; a sovereignty that was immorally and unjustly taken by the Grand Tyrant Lincoln and his Industrialist cronies in their War of Aggression, 1861-1865." - from the website
"This is the official web page of the Confederate States of America. Official statutes and journals of Congress of 1861-1865 are contained herein and are, for the most part, still binding upon the Confederate States of America as is the ratified C.S.A. Constitution of 1861."

"The national Government of the Confederate States of America does not, at this time, have any salaried personnel, but does pay some reimbursement of expenses of contractors for work contracted for by the government. It is important to note that the national Government is not structured to legally have control of the State C.S.A. Governments, but rather for them to function with the national Government and each other in accordance with the national C.S.A. Constitution and their own State Confederate Constitutions according to the dictates of the Citizens therein."-from the website

And while we're on the topic of the South:
Pay a visit to Christian Willis' magnificent website, devoted to preserving the memory of "Song of the South", based on the Uncle Remus cycle of stories by Joel Chandler Harris, and the controversy that has kept it from being shown in the USA since 1986.
Out-of-print copies of the film on PAL (European Standard 625-line analog video) VHS tape that were released in the United Kingdom are often available on eBay. If you live in a country that does not use PAL standard analog TV (such as the USA and Canada) and you don't have a convertible VCR, you'll have to hire someone to make a transfer into NTSC (the North American analog video standard) once you get the tape. Check your phone directory for "Video Conversion Services".
There are a variety of sources on-line where unauthorized DVD copies are available, but none can be listed on this site (unless you want to pay my legal bills), and I personally can't vouch for any, so please don't ask. All I can suggest is to type "Song of the South" (with quotation marks) and "+ DVD" in your search engine, and let the buyer beware. And, no, there never was a DVD release sold at Disneyland Paris.
