The listings for the model countries/micronations on this website will soon be under the authority of Mr. Travis McHenry, also known as HRH Grand Duke Travis of Westarctica. Mr. McHenry has graciously volunteered to take over the listings of the model nations, as well as accept ownership of the domain "microfreedom.com". In the coming months, a new website will be established that will consist of website listings for independence, seditionist, and new country project movements. If you seek information on the micronation movement, I urge you to contact Mr. McHenry, for he is better qualified to talk to the press than I will ever be. I thank Mr. McHenry for accepting this responsibility, and I rest easy in the knowledge that the micronation list will be in better hands than mine. Steven F. Scharff, 28 September 2016 Addendum: As of 8 October 2016, ownership of the domain "microfreedom.com" has been officially transferred to Mr. McHenry. ====================
These are model countries that function as either:
Some are run by groups of people, others by individuals.
In 2015, President Kevin Baugh of the Republic of Molossia organized Micro-Con 1, a convention of micropatriologists. While I was not able to attend in person, I recorded the convention's keynote speech. It can be seen in full here. A number of micronations listed here have been removed, because their URL links are either closed or are non-functioning. A list of those micronations are listed here:
