FATHER'S DAY
Father's Day History
Father's Day, holiday celebrated in the U.S. on third
Sunday in June; children honor their fathers with cards,
gifts; generally believed to have originated in Spokane,
Wash., in 1910, based on suggestion of Mrs. John Bruce Dodd; national
observance dates from 1924.
A FATHER'S DAY TRIBUTE
TO THE FATHER OF MY CHILDREN
ROBERT DEE MAURER
Robert is known as Bob and affectionately
called "Honey" by his wife. Eight children
and their spouses fondly call him Dad.
But, the name that is music to his ears
comes from 20 grandchildren and one
great when they call out Grandpop.
Bob loves his children and adores his
grandchildren.
Bob is a hard working Dad and provided
for his family as a brick mason. Putting in
long hours in the heat of the summer.
And braving the winter snow and cold
wind.
He loved to go camping and for many years
could be found fishing by the side of Smith
and Moorehouse with his faithful black dog.
When his children were young he loved going to
the events they were in, drama, music, sports.
Seeing the grandchildren doing the things their
parents loved is the icing on the cake.
He loves BYU sports be it football or basket-
ball. And the only thing that can make a Jazz
game better is sharing in the excitement with
his family.
This is the man I love the father of my children
my friend and companion for 45 years.
My gift to you,
A tribute from your children
A tribute to my Dad:
My Dad works so hard to take care
of his family. He always has
split fingers and burned ears.
Dad loves us in a silent way,
with just a look or a smile.
I love how Dad always helps in
the kitchen, whether with dishes
or cooking. He always wants to help.
He cares for our Mom. It is
precious to see him cut her food.
He watches from the corner of his
eye to make sure she is O.K.
My Dad is a great example to me.
I love him very much.

Here is a few things about Dad...
May God always bless him as the
head of this family.
Thank goodness we have him.
I am touched by the way he shows
his grandchildren and great
grandchild love. No doubt, he is
happy with them around.
Dad is a quiet man, but when he
speaks he is actually really funny.
I appreciate the times in my life
when he has spoken and given me
fatherly approval and encouragement.
I appreciate the 1976 barbecue in
Hunter and the things he said to me.
I appreciate the e-mail he sent to
me on May 30, 1999.
I am thankful he lets me be his
daughter.
Smiles,
Pamela
I always felt I was very special to my dad.
He never played favorites...but I always
felt like I was his favorite child.....and yet
I knew he treated all the others the same
way. After all with 8 children you can't treat
one different from all the others.
Dad I love you Linda.
A Father to admire
A Father to love
A Father to teach
me of a world above
A Father to bless me
With riches unknown
A Father to call my own
But more than a Father
A DAD

A tribute for my father?
Wow what a job.
What can I say about my dad?
He was and is my hero.
No matter what my brothers did to me,
I knew that my dad would come to my
rescue. There was a reason they called
me "daddy's little princess."
What can I wish for him?
I wish him the best year.
I wish for him a day with my kids!
I know that would be the best
present of all for him.
I love my dad!
He is the best!

This Father's Day page is Dedicated to my Father,
who past from this earthly state way to early in
his life.
He is gone but not forgotten.
He taught his four children and his many
grandchildren so much while he was here.
There is not a week goes by that I do not
recall his words of wisdom and his love.
To my wonderful Father in-law that taught me
to always love and respect my parents.
I will never forget his kind and loving words.
I miss both of them very much, their love an
widson continues on in the lives of my children
and grandchildren.
Until we meet again, may God be with you.
We all enjoy sharing our design efforts.
