but in print, they are an abomination sent directly from Hades.)
But I wish it to be known that I openly rebuke and denounce the following as attacks on the English language and refuse to use them!
Beneath each one, I list the term I use in replacement.
They may make communications briefer, but that is akin to bulldozing a 20 lane highway through a pristine, virgin rainforest so one can drive their recreational vehicle to the convenience store.
Just in case anyone is wondering, "@" for "at" is acceptable for me.
It has taken contemporary usage just as the ampersand ("&") stands for "and".
