Basic Geographical
History: Arrived in Texas at the age of 8. Lived in the
Rio Grande Valley until the age of 17. Moved to Long
Beach, California. At 18 traveled U.S. extensively. Lived
9 months in Denver. At 19, returned to Los Angeles and
started as a clerk in the fashion jewelry industry.
Attended college at the same time. At age 30 moved to Las
Vegas to start a branch office for my
employer.
Business History: 6 Months
after arriving in Las Vegas, liquidated real estate
holdings in Los Angeles and purchased a part of Harold
Brooks Corp. At age 34, branch office was dissolved and
own corporation, Vanity, Inc., was formed. As of now, thirty eight years in the fashion
jewelry industry
Past and Present hobbies
and Sports: Scuba Diving since 1971, flying since1977:
owned three airplanes, photography...specializing in
portraiture, darkroom developing with full studio setup
employing 2 Mamiya RB67's, extensive boating history
ending with a Sea Ray cabin cruiser, Deep sea fishing,
target shooting and reloading own ammo, Desert Dirt
biking, Gardening vegetables and roses, recreational
welding and electrical work, General Construction and own
Pool building, Plumbing, Woodworking and Laminating,
Computing and Chatting on AOL, Camping in the high
country, International Travel; did Europe (France,
Amsterdam, and England), Researching and Contemplating
Poetry, Music, and many other forgotten things.
Religion: Raised a
Catholic but have moved away from organized religion. I
believe in God Almighty and often wonder at His works in
complete awe. Personally, I often question, in complete
humility why He has bestowed so much on me. I am forever
in his reverence. Often, In moments of contemplation, I
reflect on those words written by Gibran, so long ago... You pray in your distress and in your need;
would that you might pray also in the fullness of your
joy and in your days of abundance.
While reflecting on all
I've been privileged to experience, I muse at Thoreau's
comment long ago.. "Most
men live their lives in quiet desperation..."and so I say to you, as all the
others,...Carpe
