Day 5
Today I have no plans at all to be anywhere near the Hard Rock even though I’m staying there tonight. Saturdays at this place are like a zoo and full of animals. When I left Main Street Station I decided to go to Sunset Station to play craps. On the way there I had a quick lunch at Jack in the Box to hold me over until dinner.
The table started out choppy and then got good. I was hitting come bets and line bets. One shooter must have hit the 8 10 times during one of his rolls. I was ahead quite a bit but then it got cold and I lost quite a bit of what I was up. I did finally cash out with about a $500 win after about 3 hours of play. It’s not as good as it could have been but it beats taking a loss.
When I left Sunset I stopped at the Pinball Hall of Fame on my way back to the Hard Rock. I played some more games here for a few hours and like always, had a blast.
After playing Pinball I had to stop off at the Hard Rock. I wanted to drop off my stuff that I took to Main Street Station with me and change my clothes for dinner. This place was an effing madhouse and I couldn’t get out of here fast enough. I changed real quick and headed out to the Las Vegas Hilton. I had dinner plans to meet my friends Steve & Anne for dinner at the Steakhouse. Terry and Jason also came. The Steakhouse here was totally renovated and they even changed their name from the Hilton Steakhouse to TJ’s Steakhouse. I’m wondering who the hell TJ is. As usual we had Mark for our waiter who is also a friend. The prices here are insane and everything is a la carte and I really hate that. I had the 14oz prime rib with a side of creamed spinach. The food here was outstanding tonight like it always it but I just can’t handle the prices. It just doesn’t seem right foe a restaurant to charge $40 - $50 for a steak. I topped off the meal with a chocolate mouse cake for dessert, like I really needed that.
When we were done with dinner I met Steve and Anne at South Point for some video poker. Mark said he would stop by when he got done with work. I started out with some single line $1 8/5 bonus. I wasn’t doing very well and was down to $20 out of the $100 I started with when I hit a straight flush. Shortly after I was dealt quad 9’s and then pulled quad kings after that. The machine got cold after that and I cashed it out with a $300 win.
I moved over to a quarter 5 play machine. I hit a few quads including aces but I wasn’t getting any dealt winners and ended up cashing out even for the session. Mark hadn’t arrived yet and Steve and Anne were tired so they left. I went back to the five plays again. I was doing ok and hit a bunch of quads including sixes 3 times in about 10 minutes. I got a head quite a bit and thought it would be fun to play DDB. Well it was fun because on a single ace hold I pulled 3 more aces plus a kicker! On the next hand I hit a regular quad and then hit multiple quads after that including aces again but without a kicker. The machine clammed up after this though and I got out with over $500 in winnings.
Mark called me and I met him over at one of the bars and played a little VP with him there. For a change of pace I played NSUD and got killed. I think the deuces were on vacation. I dropped $60 here in about 15 minutes and gave up for the night to head back here to the Hard Rock.
