Day 3
Thursday March 25, 2004

Dining:
Today was Yahtzee’s day to arrive to town. His first stop is usually here at the Silverton so he stopped in for lunch and to play a little bit. We had lunch at the Sundance Grill. I had the prime rib sandwich. It was pretty good but not great. Mike had fish and chips and said it was really good. The service was very good too and our server did a good job.

Dinner tonight was planned for the Las Vegas Hilton Steakhouse with my friend Anne and her mother Terry. This is one of my regular stops each trip and this trip is no exception. Mark the waiter took good care of us as usual. I went with the filet mignon cooked medium rare. It was perfect and a side of creamed spinach and au gratin potatoes topped it off. After dinner Mark brought out some huge strawberries and white and dark chocolate to dip them in.

Gaming:
While I was waiting for Mike to arrive I sat at a penny slot game. After a few minutes I hit the bonus round and cased out with a $3 win. On my way to the cage I ran into Mike and we headed to lunch.

After lunch with Mike it was time to play a bit. We each had coupons or cash we got in the mail. His was for $10 and mine was for $20. We both hit the 8/5 bonus slant tops. I was on a quad drought in the beginning of the session but a bunch off full houses and flushes kept me going. I finally hit a quad about 800 hands in. This was a good thing because I was almost busted for the session. Mike did lose his buy in and headed out to check into Main Street Station. I kept playing hitting quad 4’s and queens but I couldn’t seem to hit anything else. I finished this session down $100 plus the $20 they gave me.

After dinner at the Hilton we all went up to a place called the Kopper Keg up on Eastern. It’s just a local bar/grill with a pool table and video poker. The place was dead so we left and went to O’Aces down on Decatur and Tropicana. This is another local’s bar with video poker. I’m not a big fan of playing here since the VP is all short pay and there is no slot club. My answer to this is to play slow and for entertainment purposes only. After about 3 hours of slow play I quit ahead a whopping $10! It’s not a lot but beat losing! I was playing lame 7/5-bonus video poker. My best hand was hitting quad 4’s and that’s what put me up enough to cash out ahead. Mark the waiter was supposed to come join us but he no showed. I finally got back to Silverton at about 3am.

Total win/loss for the day -$100
Total comps for the day $69
