Day 7
I started off today paying back last night’s marker again and that really sucked. When that pain was over I went to Henderson to the Fiesta Henderson. I had a $50 match play, 3X points, and $40 in free play from them so I wanted to make use of those coupons that they sent me. My first order of business was lunch though. I went to the Baja Beach Café and had my favorite, Feel Good Soup. It was a little weak today because the chicken didn’t seem to be marinated like it usually is. The rest was good though and as always it was and way too much to eat.
On my way there I saw some really good news on the side of the freeway. It was a billboard for Fiesta saying they had 10X odds on craps. This was great to see because about 2 years ago they went from 10x to 3x-4x-5x and it was a real disappointment. I confirmed that they did indeed have 10x odds on a $3 game.
My first bit of play was on video poker. I thought I’d play dollars today and use my free play there too. I found an 8/5 bonus machine and promptly lost all of my free play with zero hits. This was a terrible machine. I hit no quads and I think I was dealt flush four 20 times without hitting. I also only had 1 full house the whole session. After dropping $400 here I switched to DDB with progressives for the aces, aces w/kicker and royal. The first machine I played was a vacuum cleaner. I didn’t hit a hand better than a straight and flush 4 continued to kill me. I witched machines and had a better machine. I managed to start hitting flushes and full houses and also hit quad 3’s and 9’s. I cashed out with only a $300 loss and was glad to only be down that much.
Next up was a little blackjack to use my $50 match play. I played a double deck game and on my first hand got a blackjack! Things were pretty good here and I was getting dealt good hand. I didn’t have to hit many times and when I did I made a hand. I was quickly up $300 but then it got ugly. I was down to my original buy in which I wasn’t going to touch and on my last hand won. I actually got to play for another hour and things came back. I finished up the session with a $300 win to be even for my day at Fiesta.
Fiesta was also running a promo where you could get some scratch cards for your play. Every card is a winner and you were limited to 5 per day. I got $15 in free play, 3500 points and a free gift. I got some scissor set that I’ll never use.
My next stop was Sunset Station for some craps. I had good luck here the other day and I really like playing 10x odds. This table was good right from the start with most shooters making points and lots of numbers. One main shooter rolled for about 20 minutes (a slow 20 minutes) and I was pressing my bets up. I actually had the 10 bought for $200 and $100 on a bunch of other numbers before he finally went out. I can say one thing and that it’s FUN getting paid on a $200 10! I was way ahead for a while but things stared cooling off so I colored up with a nice $2700 win.
I left Sunset Station and hit the Pinball Hall of Fame one more time for this trip. I hung out here for a while and played a bunch of games before coming back to the Hard Rock. When I got here I unloaded all my junk out of the car and came to the room to start packing for tomorrow’s flight home. I really hate packing as it is but it really sucks when it’s to go back home.
When I got everything together it was time for one more shot at the craps tables here at the Hard Rock. I took out a marker and I figured since it was the last night and I was up I’d fire up the bets and hope for the best. It’s too bad this table sucked. It was the same theme as I had all week here at the Hard Rock with shooters going number, number out. On one of my turns with the dice I bet my $50 free bet. I promptly rolled a 7 and won the extra $50. It just wasn’t enough to save myself though. The table next to mine was on fire and the floor people got me a spot at that game. Of course as soon as I got there the shooter hit his point. After he set his next point he went number, number out. Then the theme continued. I lost just about everything I was up or the trip at this table and for the first time in a long time I was really pissed off about how it happened. I’ve learned to take the losses at this game pretty well but tonight just pissed me right the eff off because of the way it happened. My timing was off by minutes and it cost me big and I didn’t even get to play that long.
After my ass kicking I came back to the room and tried to cool down before calling it a night. I was going to go to get something to eat but I totally lost my appetite. Gee, I wonder why.
