Day 9
Wednesday March 31, 2004

Meets:
Met with Gary, Ed and his wife up at 12 noon at Sunset Station at the Gaudi Bar for a while. One thing we noticed during the meet was the cocktail waitresses have new uniforms. Now they wear these leather outfits that make them look like a dominatrix!

Dining:
After the mini meet me and Gary went to lunch at the Sunset Café. I ordered the hot open turkey sandwich and Gary had an Oriental Chicken Salad. My hot open sandwich was enough to feed 3 people and it was very good. I’d rate it the best one I’ve had out here in a while. Gary said his salad was good as well.

After playing my evening session at Slots-a-Fun I got a comp to the Pink Pony. When I got there the line was way out into the casino but the VIP line was empty. I was seated right away and loved the look on everyone’s faces when I walked past all of them!

The service tonight was the worst ever. I sat for over 20 minutes before my order was even taken. Normally I would have walked out if something like this happened but I already had a comp for the place. I ordered a bowl of chicken noodle soup and the chicken deluxe sandwich and a bowl of fruit. The soup was very good as it usually is and the sandwich was pretty good too with exception of it being slightly dry. The fruit was a nice change of pace from fries. After an hour and 35 minutes I was finally out of there and on my way. Yes, that says an hour and 35 minutes.

Gaming:
I started today off over at Slots-a-Fun to take advantage of the 2X points they are offering. As always I played the 9/6 jacks or better triple play machines. It seems as if it wasn’t my day on this game. I dropped $100 in less than 10 minutes. The next $100 lasted a while and I even hit the card of the day 3 times (it was jacks) for a $10 bonus each time. I eventually lost this $100 and decided to try one more. I hit a few quads and oddly I hit quad 9’s 3 times and quad 5’s 3 times. I didn’t get the all important dealt winners that you need in triple play and ended the session down $250

After the little mini meet and lunch at Sunset Station I took a ride over to Green Valley Ranch. I got in on the craps game on a table that seemed like it was doing ok. I was a little surprised to see that they have changed their game from having 10X odds to having only 3, 4, 5 times. This actually ended up saving me money because the table was ice cold. I ended up leaving after dropping $150.

From Green Valley Ranch I headed back to Slots-a-Fun to take another shot at the triple plays. This wasn’t a good plan as I broke the record from this morning by dropping $100 in about 8 minutes. The next $100 lasted a while and I hit a few quads. To continue with the theme from this morning I hit quad 9’s three more times and quad 5’s twice more. Then just when I thought I had a shot at the big one I was dealt 4 to a royal. Then on the draw I pulled the 2 of spades on ALL 3 HANDS. Seemed very fishy to me! Again this session I wasn’t getting the dealt winners that I needed and quads weren’t hitting enough so I dropped another $300 here. This was the worst beating I ever took on these machines since I started playing them a few years ago. I was also in the hole for the trip after this ass kicking and not a happy camper. Then I remembered I had over $400 in cash back coming so I went to the slot club and cashed out my points. This was an accumulation of about 18 months worth of points since I started playing here again. I cashed out 18,600 points for $465. This put me back ahead for the trip and I was happy again!

After dinner I went over to the Palms to try my luck on the craps table again. The place was packed tonight and there was no getting on a game so I just left and headed to the Silverton for some action. There was plenty of room here and I got on the game. Things started out terrible with 3 shooters (including myself) establishing a point, rolling 2 numbers and then going out. This is a killer when making come bets. Then things turned and a guy had a great roll bringing me back to even and then getting ahead. The 4’s and 10’s were hitting and making me good money. I had 2 good rolls after this and all together I ended up cashing out with a $600 win.

When I went to the cage to cash in my chips (I had over $1000 worth) the cashier went into secret service mode asking for my players card and making calls talking quiet like he was calling the effing pentagon. You’d think $1000 was going to break the friggen bank.

Total win/loss for the day $400
Total comps for the day $632
