Day 10
Thursday April 1, 2004

Dining:
Had lunch at the Fiesta Henderson at the Baja Beach Café and for the first time this trip had my favorite lunch, the Feel Good Wonton Soup. It was good and as always way too much for me to eat. From here it was on to the craps table.

After my VP session at the Four Queens I went to Magnolias Veranda for dinner. They sent me a coupon good for dinner for 2 up to $30. I ate like a pig tonight starting off with the broccoli cheese soup that came with my meal. That was followed by Wing Zings. These are spicy chicken wings seasoned just right. Next up was the rib eye special. I hate to say it but this small $9 rib eye was better than the $20 rib eye I had at the Pullman Grill the other night. I topped off this meal with a serving of vanilla ice cream. The service was average at best and my waiter actually disappeared for a while. Then when I went to pay the nimrod cashier only wanted to comp my entrée and drink. I was just about to go crazy on her ass but the manager was right next to her and said it was a $30 comp no matter what.

Gaming:
After lunch at Fiesta Henderson I hit the craps table. The table started out choppy but then got hot. I was taking it easy and not betting like a maniac today but I was still making money. I also had a coupon for a free $5 bet that I got in the mail and as I always do when I shoot threw it on a hard 6. 2 rolls later I hit it for a nice $50. The table stayed hot and a few shooters were repeating the 4 and 10 and I was making good money. I cashed out here with a $200 win. From here I headed to pick up my laundry and then it off to downtown to checkout the re-opening of Binion’s.

My plan when I got downtown today was to hit the 4 Queens but first I had to stop off into Binion’s Horseshoe to check out the re-opening. The place was packed. I can’t recall seeing so many people in here before. For all of you reading that think Becky effed this place up, you’ll want to read on to see that as bad as she was, Harrah*s has effed it up even worse. Yes, that’s right worse than when Becky ran it. At first the place looked like it always did. It was good to see that there weren’t any changes on the appearance of the place. One thing that looked odd was the brand new chips on the tables. It just isn’t the same not seeing the really old and worn chips that helped make Binion’s what it was. The next thing that I thought sucked was the odds on craps were 3, 4, and 5x instead of the 10X it used to be. Then as I walked through the table section there was more shock. Almost all of the blackjack tables were shoe games. There were a few double decks and then what I saw almost made me cry. 2 single deck games with 6 to 5 payoffs on blackjack. I couldn’t believe that the great Binion’s was now dealing this shit, not to mention the amount of $10, $15, and $25 games. Back in the old days everything was a $5 minimum except a few $25 blackjack games and a $100 game upon a players request. So much for Harrah*s saying they were going to keep Binion’s the way it was to maintain the nostalgia of the place. What a bunch of goddamn liars they are. I would have rather seen the place stay closed than to see this happen to it.

After my tour of Binion’s I walked over to the 4 Queens. My plan was to use the LVA coupon for 2X points up to 500 points. I started off on my favorite machines there the 8/5 bonus machines with $1199 royals. This machine was brutal. I dropped $200 in less than an hour. Yes, this is a single line quarter machine and it’s slow. I can max out at 5-600 hands per hour and I still dropped 2 bills that fast. See if you can top that one Rich! The whole time I played I only hit a few full houses and no quads at all.

After getting killed on this machine I moved to the 3rd machine in the bank. This machine started off the same way but I hit quad deuces to bring me back to even. Shortly after I hit quad 7’s and a few hands later hit quad jacks and then I was dealt quad 8’s. Then my quads dried up except for hitting jacks again. I got quite a bit of play in on this machine and actually cashed out of this machine with a $50 win for a net loss of $150 for the session and had enough points to max out the coupon for double points.

Total win/loss for the day $50
Total comps for the day $217
