Tuesday April 2, 2002

Woke up around 11am this morning and got ready to roll. There is a meet later this afternoon at the Imperial Palace that was organized on the Las Vegas Talk Discussion Board. When I got up I was tinkering around with the TV and noticed I was charged $69 for last night. This didn’t seem right to me because based on my conversations with Danielle I was under the impression these nights were comped up front. This was based solely on the fact we never discussed price or anything about casino rate. Had I known I was going to be brought in at casino rate I would have never taken her up on it. Simply put I don’t generally pay for rooms in this town, especially when I have free rooms at other hotels. This is something I’ll have to look into later on with her.

It was getting late so I went up to the strip to the Imperial Palace for the meet. It had a good turnout and after a while everyone went their own ways. I walked through the casino and played a bit. I actually walked past a machine that had $30 in credits on it. Those became mine in a hurry! After some minimal play here at the Imperial Palace I made a quick stop at Albertson’s to pick up a few items and then headed back downtown to Main Street Station. I went to the slot booth to get a comp for dinner and got a buffet comp. I would have preferred something better than the buffet but this was all they said I had available. That made no sense to me since I gave them over 12k in action the night before and all I had was 1 buffet available.

It was steak night at the buffet and the line was all of the way out to the casino when I got there. Lucky for me this comp is also a line pass. I enjoyed walking past the entire line and eating before all of them! The food here was good and there was a large selection. Being that it was steak night you could have all of the T-bones you anted and this was just fine with me. After eating 2 of these along with a few other items and dessert I was stuffed and went out to the casino.

I hit the 10 coin 5 play machines again. Things weren’t as good here as they were last night. I ran over 6k through the machine but lost $500 in the process. The quads were far and few and I only got 5 scratch cards for a total of $14.

From here it was time to see if my personal ATM was repaired. Yes, it was time to go over to Binion’s Horseshoe and try my luck at blackjack. You may recall from my December report that blackjack was horrible here for me. Well today would be no exception to that. I got my ass handed to me at the tables. Even after getting 14 blackjacks I still walked away from here a big loser. This kind of ruined my night and I went back up to the Palms.

When I got back I saw the FPDW progressive was up over $1400. Normally I won’t play this game when the jackpot goes over $1200 because of the tax situation but this was high enough that even after taxes it was still going to be a good win if I hit. The bank was packed and the progressive was moving quickly. I played for over 5 hours and again got my ass handed to me here. This was the gambling day from hell. I over 5 hours of play I never hit the deuces and I never hit the royal flush either. When I finally quit I had dropped another $500. The royal still hadn’t been hit and was now over $1500. I was a little amazed that I lost so much money playing single line quarters. Ah, the great volatility of full pay video poker. It was now nearing 6m and the sun was coming up. I went up to the room and called it a night. A night that I wanted to forget and my bankroll wished never happened.

Total win/loss for the day -$2000
Total comps or the day $86
