Day 9 Wednesday April 2, 2003

I forced myself to get up early this morning so I wouldn’t sleep the whole day away. Early simply meaning 10am instead of noon or 1 like it’s normally been. My first stop was over to the Riviera to see Gary and CC and make plans for lunch tomorrow and to confirm our plans for the weekend.

After making all the needed plans I was hungry and instead of eating in the casino I actually opted to pay for lunch over at Arby’s. I know this goes against my motto of not paying for food in this town but I was in the mood for fast food! A quick Beef ‘n Cheddar combo meal and I was on my way back to the casinos!

After lunch I went back over to Slots-a-Fun to get in a little more action on the triple play machines with 9/6 jacks. This machine hadn’t been touched since I had cashed out at 3am. It still had the 800 credits paid out on it and the screen I played still had the same and on it. Pretty amazing considering this place was really busy today.

The first $100 I put in disappeared in near record time. I never went so many hands on triple play that produced no winners. The second hundred lasted quite a while mainly because on the 3rd hand I played I was dealt a quad. The quads were popping up regularly now and I even pulled quad 7’s twice to get the card of the day bonus of $10 each. After getting ahead the machine tightened up and I ended up losing everything. I think this is the first time I have ever actually lost on these machines.

After this session I was really tired so took a short nap and it was back to the action. I thought it would be a good idea to hit and run at a few casinos and get some chips from a few places I needed to stock up on. My first stop was the dumpy Wild West on Tropicana. This little dump is operated by Stations and they should be ashamed of themselves for being part of this place. They only have a bath tub craps table and I lost about $20 here.

My next stop was Barley’s out on Sunset Road. This place is also operated by Stations and is much nicer and is a fun little place. They also have a bathtub style game. I didn’t do very well here either and dropped around $60.

The next stop was over to the new Tuscany casino. This place has only been open for a few months. When I walked in the place still smelled new. I guess they are lacking business because there were only about 20 people in the entire casino at 8pm. They had a full size craps game open. I bought in for $200 and proceeded to lose it without getting much action for it. I bought in for $200 and it was just me and one other player on the table. He was betting the don’t. I though it was going to be my chance to shoot well and wipe his ass out. Sadly the part where I wipe out don’t bettors hasn’t been working too well this trip. He busted out not because of the don’t, but because he was betting all the dumb shit in the center of the board. I eventually lost everything and left. I like this casino but they are going to need to do something to generate some business. It’s a shame a nice place like this had no customers during prime time.

After leaving Tuscany I went back over to the Hard Rock. It was a little busier here tonight than it was the other day when I was here. I got in on a $5 game and bought in for $500. On the far end of the table I saw a guy with a rack full of $500 chips. He was betting 2 grand on the don’t and laying odds from time to time. The lady next to me said he was making killing. This table was ice cold and no one was making a point. It was my turn to shoot and I was only hoping that my history of killing the don’t bettor would repeat tonight. I took great pride in shooting an 11 on my first roll and seeing the dealer scoop up his $2,000! After I made a point on the next roll I sevened out and he won. Other than getting paid on 2 come bets I didn’t get paid at all and blew through the $500 I bought in with.

Now I was getting a little low on cash but I was here to play so I bought in on the table next to this cold one. It was a $10 game and I don’t usually play craps at this level but thought I’d take a shot. This table started out well and I got ahead a few hundred right away. From here the game got choppy. One shooter would do great and the next would suck. I was eventually down to having just $30 in front of me before a hot shooter filled my rack back up. This table remained up and down for most of the night. Some of the highlights were a drunk guy trying to play. He wanted to ask the table what number we wanted and wave and talk in between throws. The table was getting aggravated and telling him to just throw the effing dice. It turned out this dumb ass was a great shooter and the table made some money on his shooting. Another highlight was a girl with a really loose top shooting the dice and giving everyone at the game a free show. Unfortunately she sevened out pretty fast and then left. The table was a little disappointed when this happened.

Eventually the table emptied out and I was just about out of chips. I was the only player on the game and got to keep shooting. I had a few good rolls and few bad ones. It worked out that the good ones brought me back up and I cashed out at this game with a $35 profit after 6 hours. Yeah, I beat my record from the other night by playing for 6 hours.

It was now about 4am and I was starving. I came back here to Circus-Circus and had a late night snack at the Pink Pony consisting of Chicken Tenders. This did the trick and after eating it was now time for bed at 5am!

Total win/loss for the day -$1150
Total comps for the day $43
Total out of pocket expenses $9
