Day 3
Monday June 25, 2007

Today I decided I would start the day with a session on the five play machine over at Slots – A – Fun hoping things would go better than they did last night! Things didn’t. I actually lost $100 in less than 5 minutes. The next bill lasted longer but I was being quad deprived today. I was getting the dealt winners though. I was going through streaks like I hadn’t gone through on multi-line machines in a while. After about 45 minutes I had to drop a 3rd bill into the machine. That’s when it happened. I held 3 to a royal and up pops a royal on line 4 (same line as yesterday’s royal) for the $1000 win. They also gave me a t-shirt! The machine was still streaky and I cashed out a little while after the royal with $100 left on the meter.

When I was done playing I went over to the New Frontier to have lunch with my soon to be unemployed friend Anne at the New Frontier. This place has only 2 ½ weeks left to go before its closing. We went to the Panda Express there and I had a 2 item combo. The food here is decent at what I’d call a fair price.

When I left the New Frontier I picked up Yahtzee Mike at Caesars Palace and we went out to the Pinball Hall of Fame. We played an assortment of games here and between the 2 of us I think we spent less than $5 in over a 3 hour period. Now that is a good deal and way cheaper than gambling!

We left the Pinball Hall of Fame and made our way up to Fiesta Henderson. I had $40 in free play and we both had some match play coupons. They were also running 5X points. We started off with the triple play progressives. I used my free play here and got quite a bit of play out of it before finally losing it. On my own money I was up and down on the credit meter. I wasn’t hitting many dealt hands though and I was quad deprived again. Finally I was dealt trip deuces and pulled quads on 2 lines. Shortly after that I hit aces, 3’s and 4’s. The machine was still streaky and the meter was still up and down. I also got dealt quad 7’s in between the streaks. Oddly though, even with all of those nice hits I actually lost $100 for the session. Mike got whacked as well and we decided it was dinner time.

Dinner was at the Baja Beach Café and I went with my standard favorite Feel Good Soup. Tonight it was the best it’s been in a long time with the broth real rich and the chicken tender and flavorful.

After dinner we hit the craps table. It’s good to see they went back to 10X odds after they had changed to 3-4-5 about a year and a half ago. Tonight this was a $3 game as well. Things started off bad and then I got the dice. I used my match play on the pass line and promptly rolled a 12 on my come out roll as my luck with coupons continues. I hit a few points and quite a few numbers between points. I was going to color up after my roll but it was Mike’s turn. He went out on his first roll so it wasn’t too painful. I colored up with a $275 win so the trip to Fiesta was worth while.

Before we left we stopped and talked with our host and she told us about a bunch of changes at the casino, some good, and some bad.

I dropped Mike off at Caesars Palace and came back here to Circus – Circus to play more video poker at Slots – A – Fun. This machine wasn’t treating me well tonight but I did get some play out of the $100 I put in. A lack of dealt winners did me in though.

I was going to call it a day but as I was walking through Circus – Circus the $1 triple plays were calling my name. I sat down at one and started to play. The machine was keeping me going but there were no big hands and no quads. I dropped $300 and decided to try 1 more bill, but this time on DDB. Since I hadn’t hit a quad yet I was hoping I’d hit one on this game here they pay a whole lot better. This paid off quite well since about 10 hands in I was dealt quad 9’s for $750. I switched back to bonus poker and the luck continued. I hit quad 3’s twice within a few hands and cashed out with a $700 win.

Before heading back up here to the room I had a $15 for $10 match play. I know I should never do this but I went to a 6-5 blackjack table figuring for 1 hand it wasn’t going to be an issue. I was dealt a 19 against a dealer 9. She had a 7 under and pulled an ace for 17. I win!

I came back up to the room around midnight, hopped in the Jacuzzi for a while and then called it a night.

Total win/loss for the day $1550
Total comps for the day $124
