Day 4
I started the day off with more video poker action at Slots – A – Fun on the five plays. This was just terrible. I only hit 2 quads (one was the card of the day) the whole time I played and dropped 3 bills in less than an hour. It’s to be expected to happen from time to time when playing five plays but it’s still painful.
On my way back through Circus – Circus I decided to try $200 into the triple play $1 machines and 8/5 bonus. I was doing ok here but not gaining any ground. I was lucky enough to get dealt a pair of aces and pulled quads on the top line (of course it was with a kicker) for $400. I cashed out shortly after with a $200 win here and only down $100 for the day.
It was now lunch time so I hit the West Deli here at Circus – Circus. I had a turkey sandwich and a bowl of soup. The food here is pretty good. My only problem is the employees would rather bullshit with each other than do their jobs. While the food is good it’s a little pricey for a deli. My sandwich, soup, and a soda was over $14. Back home this would cost me about 8 bucks. It doesn’t matter though since it’s all complimentary anyway!
After lunch I returned to Slots – A – Fun for more torture on video poker. This was just another ass kicking. Again with only 2 quads and very few dealt winners. I dropped another $300 here with very little play.
I left the Slots – A – Fun/Circus – Circus area and went over to Terrible’s. My plan was to hit their gas promotion and hopefully not lose my ass while doing it. Even though they were short play, I decided on the 10-play machines. These are fun, but can be brutal if the dealt winners aren’t happening. I dropped the first hundred pretty quickly but then things leveled off. I was having a hard time improving the dealt hands with one exception. I was dealt 3 to a royal and pulled my 3rd royal in three days on line 9.
Deciding it was a better idea to take the money and run I decided to skip getting the full amount on the gas promo. I did get enough play for $5 in gas though. Oddly today there wasn’t even a line at the slot club.
When I left Terrible’s I went Wal-Mart for some stuff (using the gift cards from the Cannery on Sunday) and then over to the Pinball Hall of Fame to keep from losing the royal money I just made. It’s bad enough I was already down nearly $700 on the day before hitting it. I stayed and played here for a good part of the evening before going back to Circus – Circus and Slots – A – Fun.
For a quick meal I hit Jack in the Box for some of their tacos. I know this stuff is crap but it’s good and I can’t get it back home!
Once I got back I got a little more action in on the five plays. Things were choppy but I got a few dealt winners to keep alive. I was getting tired though so I quit at one point when I was even and came up to the room to hit the Jacuzzi before going to bed. This kind of worked out well thought because I want to get up early tomorrow and get an early start on the five plays since it’s 2X points over there.
