Day 7
Friday June 29, 2007

I started off the day by going to the player’s club area here at Main Street Station where they have free WiFi internet access to check out some stuff and e-mails since it’s been about a week.

Now that I’m done with the internet I took another shot at the triple plays. After having 3 great days on video poker, it’s been getting kind of old not hitting anything. I lost $100 in no time at all and didn’t hit any quads and the best dealt hand I had was 2 pair. Next I took a shot at a progressive bank of DDB where the royal was over $8000. Again here I hit no quads and dropped another $500 and in total between the 2 games I only cycled about 3k through the machines. This isn’t good as at this point all the profits from the royals were almost gone.

Needing a break from Main Street Station I took a ride to Sunset Station for some craps action. They had a $5 game with 10X odds. I bought in and the table was ok. Not great but some numbers were hitting. Then the table went choppy and then cold before coming back. I got the dice and had a $25 match play I used on the line. I rolled a 7 on the come out to win the coupon! I went on to roll 3 points and a variety of other numbers actually getting back to even. The table got good again and I made a slow climb into positive territory. I got the dice again and this time hit 5 points. Most of them I hit back to back right after setting the point. By this time I had fired up the bets so the pay offs were getting good. After I went out I stayed for 2 more shooters. They sucked so I colored up with a $1200 win. One thing I never understand about people at the craps table is their betting styles. This was a $5 game with 10X odds yet there was a guy next to me flat betting $50 on the pass line with no odds. What sense does this make?

From Sunset Station I went to Silverton. On the way there I stopped to gas up the car using gas cards I had earned at Terrible’s and South Point last December. Damn thing took over $50. Today isn’t a moving day but I will be going over to check in on a special offer. It’s called the Joyful June Getaway and is good for 2 nights and $150 in free play. This is too good to pass up even though I don’t need the room. Now some people have gotten on my ass about double booking at 2 hotels but here’s my question to them. Does it make sense to pass up $150 in free play because the hotel is making me take the room? I’m just playing by their rules.

Checking in here is usually quick and according to my offer I am supposed to check in at the VIP Lounge. In just a few minutes I was off to room 3050 to check out the room that would be left empty for the next 2 nights although, it may be used for a break or a nap!

I met up with Yahtzee Mike over at the Bob Dancer machines. He was playing deuces and I wanted to go use my free play on the dollar machines in their little high limits room. Mike went back over to the Dancer machines and about 5 minutes into my session I called him back over to the room. It was amazing to me but I held King, Queen, and Jack of spades and watched the Ace & ten pop up. In my head I was like that looks like a royal and there was about a 2 second delay before the machine locked up. It WAS a royal! So, for all you folks that think I shouldn’t double book hotel offers to take advantage of the perks that come with the offer. Screw you. I would have never hit that royal if I didn’t book this room and take their free play.

We went to dinner at the Sundance Café. I had the open prime rib sandwich and that came with a salad. This is one of my favorite meals here. Mike went with the Cajun rib eye. I thought everything was good here tonight. I can’t recall ever getting a bad meal here. After dinner I left Silverton and came back down to Main Street Station.

I tried my luck on the triple plays again and just got hammered. It seems like the last few days I either get killed on video poker or I hit a royal. There doesn’t seem to be much middle ground. I lost $200 here and headed over to the blackjack tables. This was a $10 game and I played 2 spots at $25 a hand. Initially the dealer was on fire and I lost both hands three straight times. Things got much better after that though. I was getting double down hands and winning them, the dealer was breaking and I got a few blackjacks. The dealer was catching some hot streaks though and it seemed like she was pulling 20 or 21 at the most inopportune times. She did this 3 times in 4 hands when I had doubles out. I decided to get while the getting was good and take my $300 win.

My next stop was the Boar Bar for some single line video poker and to see Bob the bartender. I took a shot at DDB hoping for some quads with kickers. Again I was getting killed on video poker and dropped $100 in less time than it usually takes me to lose $100 on triple play. I tried another $100 and immediately hit quad kings followed by queens about 5 minutes later. Things leveled out here and I played for a while staying pretty much even. I hit on more quad and got ahead a little bit. I decided to cash out even since I was already tired and the drinks Bob was making were starting to go to my head!

All in all it was a very good day with exception of the rocky start I had!

Total win/loss for the day $4850
Total comps for the day $406
