Day 8
Saturday June 30, 2007

Once I got up and motivated I had a few hours before I had to head back to Silverton. I took a shot at $1 bonus poker. I hit a few quads and got quite a bit of action. I cashed out even and moved over to the DDB progressive that was now over $10,000. This was a huge mistake. My first hand was a dealt straight and then after that I didn’t see a hand higher than 3 of a kind. Even those were far and few. I lost $500 on these and decided to quit for the day at MSS and get lunch.

For lunch I went to the California Snack Bar and just got a hot dog. I didn’t want to eat too much because I had dinner plans later on.

I left Main Street Station and went back to the Silverton. Today is Yahtzee Mike’s Annual Crapsfest. Crapsfest is nothing more than a meet but at a craps table instead of a lounge. I believe this is the 4th year were having it. In years past it was always held at Fiesta Henderson but recent changes in the game there have caused me and mike to look for a new venue for this event. Back in December we thought the Silverton would be a good option.

A few of us met at the table and started the game. Today was a complete opposite of years past. Today we were hitting points, making our come bets and getting paid on place bets. Our side of the table did quite well and Mike had a really nice roll. The other side of the table pretty much killed us though. I was about to quit but the dice came back to our side and it was my turn to shoot. I hit one point but that was all. Rich shot next and did ok but nothing great. I decided to get out of the game with a $375 win. This was the best Crapsfest ever.

After Crapsfest some of us went to the buffet for dinner. I had heard the buffet here sucked but I didn’t think so. It’s not the best in town but it is pretty good. Just about everything I had was pretty good with exception of 2 items. One of those was the pizza simply because it wasn’t cooked.

After dinner I met Anne and some of her co-workers out at the pool (Anne and Steve were also staying at Silverton tonight). We hung out here for quite a while. Mike came out to say goodbye to everyone because he’s leaving tomorrow morning to go home.

I took a short break and then met Anne in the casino. She played some dollars and I found a 10-play quarter machine with 8/5 bonus. Things were tough here. Dealt winners were scarce and quads were as well. I did get dealt 3 aces and pulled quads on 2 lines. This helped a little but I only hit 2 other quads and dropped a few hundred here.

Anne went to bed and I went to craps. The table was choppy and I was playing alone most of the time. I did get up a little bit but then the number, number, out shit started happening and I dropped $500.

I thought I’d take one more shot at the 10-plays and it was more of the same. It was just a total lack of dealt winners. There were only 2 dealt straights and a few trips. Other than that 2 pair was the best I got. Out of 5k coin in, I only hit 4 quads in total. Dropped another load of money here and decided it was time to leave Silverton.

When I got back to Main Street Station I had a late night breakfast at the Triple 7. Just bacon and eggs tonight and then it was off to bed at 4am.

Total win/loss for the day -$1650
Total comps for the day $219
