Day 4
Tuesday June 30, 2009

We got up early this morning and hit the Sundance Grill for breakfast. I really like this place and the menu. I had steak and eggs. The food and service were pretty good today. They were also running a 2 for 1 entrée special so Dee’s breakfast was free. Actually the whole meal was free as I used the remaining food credit that came with the room.

After breakfast we hit the casino. We ran into Yahtzee Mike who was already playing. I played some 10 play video poker. Even though I didn’t get that many quads I was getting enough dealt hands to keep alive. I cycled over 5k through and cashed out up by $200. I moved to a fun 100 play machine for a bit. The dealt winners were lacking and in a little time. I dropped $197 of the $200 I was up. Next I played an assortment of penny slots with Dee. She did well but I couldn’t hit any bonus rounds. I was able to hold steady and that $3 I was up from video poker was $12.50 by the time we were done!

It was now time for Yahtzee Mike’s 7th Annual Crapsfest. I sort of dispute that we’re at 7 years of doing this already and will have to look up my old reports to verify how many years we’ve been having this annual event. I know time flies but it just seems that 7 years has been VERY fast! For those not familiar with Crapsfest it’s nothing more than a meet that takes place at a craps table instead of a restaurant or lounge. We’ve had some really bad outings at these events and one pretty good one that happened right here at Silverton a few years ago. The turnout today was weak with just 4 of us. I’m not sure if it was the economy or the fact that we had the event on a weekday this year. As far as the game, today was choppy at first. It wasn’t a terrible table, but it wasn’t great either. It was a slow bleed. Then we had a few shooters that just killed us. I was about to quit but it was my turn to shoot so I dipped in for an extra $100 to play with. I had a good roll and was able to stay in the game. The next shooter had a nice run as did the shooter after him. The dice came back to our side of the table and things remained good. By the time we decided to color up I cashed out with a little over $300. Not only was this financially a good Crapsfest, we broke a record by playing for over 3 hours!

After we were done with craps we stopped at the slot club to pick up our gifts. For playing 800 points you earned a free Sham-Wow. Like Vince says, they’re made in Germany and you know the Germans always make good stuff. When we headed out we stopped at one of Dee’s favorite places, (hahaha) The Palms. I wanted to see if I had any old points available (I didn’t). Dee signed up for a slot card and got $10 free play with the ACG coupon. Then we went to roulette to play some match plays. Dee hit on odd but I lost on black. We were now 5 for 12 on match plays. Before we left they had a swipe and win promo so we swiped our cards. I was hoping to win a 6 pack of Coca – Cola but I got a $5 food coupon for the café. Dee won some useless crap.

When we were done playing At Palms I went to Bill’s to park. Then we walked over to Harrah’s. We grabbed a quick bite to eat over at the Garden Cafe. I had a burger and fries and the service was fair in here tonight. While we were eating we played some Keno and didn’t hit a thing.

After we ate we hit the diamond lounge for a quick dessert. They have cut the foods way back here but they had some nachos and chicken wings tonight.

It was now show time and we went back over to the Strip and Imperial Palace to see their new show Human Nature. Before the show we did some match plays. They are only good on BJ here so I found a spot on a table with a Gwen Stephani look – a – like. She had no idea how a match play worked or what it was. I was a winner though and the floor man showed her how to pay it. Dee went next and was sitting on a 13 against a dealer 8. The guy in the middle seat held a 14 against the dealer 8 but the dealer gave him a card by accident and that card was a 10. That card got burned and saved Dee from busting. She hit and pulled an 8 for 21. Then the dealer proceeds to pull 21. Next hand Dee pulls a 20 and so did the dealer. On the third hand Dee busted out making us 6 for 14.

On to the show it was. Human Nature is a show featuring music of Motown with an Australian Group that is presented by Smokey Robinson. We had good seats up close in the front section. These tickets are normally $60 a piece. Mike and Dana were also at the show and scored seats right near us. To sum up this show all I can say is it was excellent.

After the show I had another match play. I was dealt a 17 against a dealer 5. I almost shit myself when another player hit his 14 and pulled a 10. The dealer flipped over a 10 and pulled a 7 for a bust and a win for me and a record of 7 for 15.

When the show was over we went back to Bill’s (Mike parked there too). We said bye to Mike and Dana and told them we’d see them at Christmas! We headed back to the Hilton to pack up some of our stuff as tomorrow we’d be moving out. Then it was time for bed

Total win/loss for the day $350
Total comps for the day $461
