Day 9
Sunday July 1, 2007

Today is another moving day so after getting everything together I made the trip back up to the strip to Caesars Palace. I’m staying here on 2 separate offers that I was able to link back to back. My first offer is for a Tommy Bahama watch and 2 nights. Since I hate doing 2 night stay I tried to book 4 nights. The website wanted me to pay like $259 a night. I called to see if they could do anything for me and the girl on the phone said she could combine it with my diamond renewal offer. I questioned if that was ok after reading all of the comments on the message boards about back to back bookings. I was assured by her it was ok. She said back to backs are allowed as long as there aren’t 2 giveaways or events, and/or it’s not more than 5 nights.

After parking the car and walking 127 miles from the garage I finally made it to the diamond check in area. Check in was quick and easy as it usually is in here (I think most people don’t know the diamond check in actually down here). I was assigned room 3161 and headed up to check it out. This room has a king bed with nightstands, sitting area, dining area, wall unit, flat screen TV and work desk. There is a nice view of the south strip from Flamingo all of the way to the soon to be closed New Frontier. There’s also a view of the rest of Caesars Palace and from here you can actually tell how big this property really is.

He bathroom has a glass shower stall, 2 sink vanity, jetted tub, and a flat panel TV on the wall. The toilet is in its own little room.

Once I got all of my stuff to the room by making that long walk again (I’ll valet the rest of the trip and even that’s far) I hit the diamond lounge for lunch. Today they had the usual sandwich wraps, salads, fruits, and desserts.

When I was done with lunch I went to the special area they had set up to pick up my Tommy Bahama watch. It’s a nice watch but since I don’t wear a watch and already have 2 nice watches at home, this will soon make its way to eBay!

Once I got my watch I went over to the Pinball Hall of Fame again. I have a blast here and it’s a pretty inexpensive way to spend the afternoon. I spent over 4 hours here today and had a great time as always.

Next I went to Sunset Station to throw some dice. This turned out to be a bad thing. The table started out choppy and then went cold. I had some decent rolls but my problem tonight was everyone else pretty much sucked. I dropped about $1500 here tonight and left a little aggravated.

When I left Sunset Station I went downtown to Main Street Station to meet up with Rich and Dawn. I found them at the Boar Bar and we hung around there with Bob the Bartender. Dawn went to bed but I hung out with Rich until about 4am. I wasn’t drinking because I had to drive but we still had a good time.

Rich headed to bed and I went over to the California to the Market Street Café to grab a late night special. They have a ½ pound NY Strip with veggies and potato for just $4. I didn’t even have a comp for this one (OH the humanity) and actually paid for a meal. The food was really good but the service was lacking tonight. It seems that the employees were more interested in bullshitting with each other than working.

I finally got back to Caesars Palace at about 5:15am and jumped into the most comfortable bed they have in this room!

Total win/loss for the day -$1500
Total comps for the day $260
