Day 10

I slept really late today and didn’t leave the room until around 4pm. When I got motivated I went to the ice machine for ice and I couldn’t get back into my room. I went to the diamond check in area and found out for some reason they checked me out of the room. WTF is up with that? The guy at the desk fixed things and made me new keys and everything was fine after that.

I made plans to meet with Anne, her mom, and Mark the Waiter from the Hilton Steakhouse later in the evening. I made a quick stop at Jack in the Box for lunch and then I stopped off at the Pinball Hall of Fame again since it was pretty close to where we would be meeting. I played here for a few hours but unfortunately my favorite machine broke while I was playing it. That’s a real bummer!

After a few hours of fun here I went to a place called Rae’s on the corner of Pecos and Wigwam to catch up with everyone. It’s a restaurant bar place with video poker. I hung out here with Anne and her mom for a while but Mark never showed up. I really don’t care for these type places because the video poker really sucks and there are no real comps.

We left Rae’s fairly early because Anne had to work in the morning. Since it was still early I went over to Sunset which wasn’t too far away. I started off playing blackjack and used a $25 match play. I lost that along with the next 4 hands. I never saw the dealer show so many up cards of 10 and have 20 every hand. Things leveled off and I actually got ahead a little bit. I took a shot at pressing my bets and got whacked. I cashed out even after only about 20 minutes. This dealer was just too hot for my liking.

Next up was craps and I bought in and for a change didn’t have every shooter going number, number out. The table wasn’t bad but just as it would heat up the shooters would 7 out. I couldn’t turn the corner and get on a good run. I played here for about 2 hours and colored up with a $500 win.

When I was done playing I got a comp from the floor man to the Café. I guess he didn’t realize when he gave it to me that the coffee shop was closed. I wasn’t too happy about this and the only option at this hour was fast food. Since I already had fast food today, I passed and just came back to the room to jump in the Jacuzzi and get to bed at a more normal hour.
