Day 6
Thursday July 3, 2008

Since the last few days were so hectic with moving and hitting promos the plan for today was to chill out and relax.

We started the day with a walk along Casino Drive (I drove down to Golden Nugget) walking all of the way to the Riverside and then going in and out of each casino along the way. Since Dee had never been here before we went into the Aquarius, Edgewater, Colorado Belle, Pioneer and Golden Nugget. While we were at the Edgewater I played a Wizard of Oz penny slot. I hit a few bonus rounds but didn’t do very good on them and during the regular spins never hit anything substantial. I lost $11 here and e moved on. At the Colorado Belle we tried one of those giant Wheel of Fortune games and had worse luck here than we did at the Fremont the other day. We hit one bonus round and hit the lowest amount on the wheel for 250 coins. I’m thinking I won’t be playing this game much more in the future.

After our walk we decided to hit the pool area. We hit the Adults only pool so we wouldn’t have to deal with screaming little rug rats. The sun was hot and the water refreshing. We only stayed here for about an hour to prevent baking ourselves. When we left the pool I showed Dee the beach that Harrah’s has on the river. While she wouldn’t swim in the river, she did want to pop her toe in to say she’s officially been in the Colorado River. I went in too and the water was effing freezing!

For a lunch we hit the buffet for some food. They have a brunch buffet here and it’s the best on the river for sure. Tons of things to choose from and everything I had was good. While I have hundreds of dollars in comps in my account I used the ACG coupon for a buy one get one free buffet and used my reward credits for the other buffet so it was totally comped. Using the coupon saves comp dollars which I like to use sparingly so I can redeem them for airfare.

After lunch we came up to the room to get caught upon our reports and have some nap time since we were up at 5:45am and the sun beat us up little bit.

When we were rested we went out on the town for a little while hitting the few places we hadn’t yet been to this trip and to play a little bit. This included a stop at Tropicana Express and then a walk back over to Aquarius. At Aquarius we played a variety of penny slots to cool down and have some fun. We got some play for a change but eventually lost the $20 between us. Next up was a walk up the river walk through Edgewater and Colorado Belle. We were going to play some BJ at Pioneer but the tables were full so we went to the Golden Nugget. They actually had a $5 single deck games that pay 3-2 on blackjacks. I played 2 hands at $10 each. The table started out ok, and then got bad. The dealer wouldn’t break. Things eventually turned and I was able to get up about $150. At about the same time I pressed my bets the dealer pulls a 7 card 21 followed by 2 blackjacks. To make things worse, of the 6 hands I had played 5 of them were totals of 20. Things continued up and down and I eventually cashed out with just a $15 loss. Dee got upset at me during this session because I had dropped a few eff bombs at the table. I didn’t know or think this bothered her but apparently it did and I felt bad for ruining her evening. I’m really sorry Dee.

When we left the Golden Nugget we came back to Harrah’s for dinner. We went to the Beach Café and even though it was only 10pm they were on the late night menu which was very limited. I had corned beef hash and eggs. Dee had a turkey club. My food was tasty but not properly cooked. The hash browns were hardly cooked and the hash was actually very runny. Luckily I had ordered it well done or there is no telling how runny it would have been.

After dinner we hit the 50 plays. I took a shot at dimes tonight and this was nothing but a mistake. I couldn’t buy myself a hand. The best hand I got dealt was trips and that was only 4 times. The rest of the time I was drawing to bad cards. I did manage to pull one royal on a hand but in the end after only running $6700 through the machine. I packed it in after yet another losing day of gambling and I’m getting sick of this crap!

Total win/loss for the day -$700
Total comps for the day $99
