Day 14

Today I slept in and got a little extra rest before getting out and about. I started the day with some craps action here at the Hard Rock. The table started like both did yesterday. I was getting killed and then things leveled off. They didn’t really get good at all during this session though. I pretty much held steady for most of the time and then about 6 shooters in a row went out within 3 rolls and killed me. I quit after about 4 hours of play losing close to $2000. This really sucked especially after winning twice yesterday.

I took a short break in the room for a while. I just watched TV and check out the action at the pool down below. I went back to the tables again things were choppy before the tables went cold. This is getting old and I dropped another pile of money during this session, and now everything I had won yesterday is gone and I wasn’t happy. It is part of the game though and you have to take up ups and the downs, as painful as they can be.

I left the Hard Rock and went to Terrible’s to play their gas promotion. I played 8/5 bonus for dollars. I got quite a bit of action out of the first $100 bill and hit just one quad. It took a second bill to get thing rolling again and I hit another quad to get ahead a little bit. After the second quad the downward spiral hit until an odd, but good thing happened. I hit back to back full houses, and I was dealt back to back flushes, then I was dealt flush 4 back to back and connected both of them. I hit my 5000 points to get the $25 in gas and I was down $25 on the machine. All in all it’s a break even deal.

While waiting in line for an eternity at the slot club I grabbed a Terrible’s magazine so I could get a match play out of it. I played the $10 match play on the pass line at the craps table since all of the other games were packed. The shooter hit a 7 on the come out roll and I won the bet for $20. This lowered the actual loss at Terrible’s to only $5 today and I got $25 in gas!

Next up was a stop at the Pinball Hall of Fame to save on bankroll. As always I hung out here for a few hours and played a variety of games.

For dinner I drove out to Fiesta Henderson for a bowl of Feel Good Soup at the Baja Beach Café. The service in here was totally unacceptable. I was pretty much ignored by the waiter that was taking care of the counter tonight for 20 minutes. He has got to be the worst waiter I’ve ever had at this place and there have been some real winners. His service was reflected in his 10% tip (and I normally tip 20% when I’m alone).

After dinner I played some $1 DDB video poker. It was streaky as DDB is. I only hit 2 quads and oddly they were both dealt. It was just too bad they weren’t bonus quads with kickers. I played for about 45 minutes and lost $100 here. On my way out I stopped off at a penny Goldfish slot machine. I was doing well on this machine like I always seem to do playing penny slots. I hit a bunch of bonus rounds and pressed my bets up until I was maxing out the machine. Then I hit a bonus round and won over 11,000 coins. I cashed out the machine with a $100.55 win and offset the VP loss earlier AND turned a 55c profit! Hey, don’t knock it, after the day I had, 55c is a treat!

I finally made it back to the Hard Rock around 1am and the place was jam packed so I didn’t bother trying to get to a game.
