Day 10
Monday July 7, 2008

This morning we slept in until after 8am then hit the pool. We stayed a little longer than usual but no too long to avoid getting burned. One thing I’m not happy about here at the Red Rock pool is that they don’t seem to be very clean.

After pool time we went to the room relaxed and had lunch with left overs from yesterday’s lunch get together before we headed out for the day.

We went downtown to Main Street Station to check e-mails and I went over to the Boar Bar to see bartender Brian and talked for a few minutes. From here we went over to the 4 Queens. We were both armed with a pocket full of coupon from the ACG and POV. I redeemed the $10 free play coupon and the free funbook coupon. I played my free play on a penny Wheel of Fortune machine and hit a bonus round for $40, took the money and ran. The other purpose of playing at the 4 Queens was the promo they were running. It offered free play and gas cards for attaining certain levels of play. I settled in at one of the 50 plays and set it for 10 lines and quarters so I could try to max out this promo. I was having an issue getting any dealt winners again today and I wasn’t pulling much either. I did manage to get a dealt quad and a few full houses but that was all. One highlight was dumping a junk hand and drawing a straight flush on one of them. By the time I maxed out the promo I was down $460 but it was a good play. I got $50 in gas cards and $360 free play plus my $50 in cash back. I played some of the free play penny games and the rest on quarter video poker. I was able to turn it into about $350 cash. All in all it was a pretty good day considering I didn’t have any luck on the video poker.

After I ran my free play through we both had $10 match plays from the fun book so hit the roulette table. Dee played on even and hit. I played mine on black and hit for a nice $40 bringing us to 10 for 20 on match plays.

Our next stop was to Fitzgerald’s to use the $5 match plays from the POV. Dee lost hers on even. I played mine on black and hit. Dee was sad she lost but I explained to her that we can’t win them all and we wanted to lose the $5 ones! Now we were 11 for 22 on match plays.

Next up we stopped back at 4 Queens so Dee could redeem another coupon and got a free sun visor. While we were there I saw my host and scored a full comp to Magnolias coffee shop. We weren’t quit hungry yet so we went shopping so Dee could pick up a few items for the nieces and nephews back home.

After shopping we hit Magnolias for dinner. I haven’t had a full comp in a long time so this was going to be fun. The comp also included 2 rounds of drinks so we got some beers to start. For appetizers we got a shrimp cocktail and a sampler platter. This had potato skins, chicken fingers, chicken wings, mozzarella sticks and veggies. For our entrees Dee got lasagna and I had the NY strip. My meal came with soup or salad and I chose the 4 Queens own Louisiana Gumbo. The steak also came with a baked potato and mixed vegetables. It was cooked perfectly and I ate about ¾ of it before being full. Of course I’m never too full for dessert and we both had a slice of chocolate cake and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Dee also had some coffee and I had a big old glass of milk! When the bill came we had racked up a $72 tab! I was impressed and shocked. Mainly because back at Christmas we went to Hugo’s Cellar and only racked up an $85 tab

We left the 4 Queens and walked back to Main Street to fetch the car and headed out to Santa Fe Station for 2 reasons. First of all was Dee never having been there and to use the two $25 match plays from the POV. Dee liked this place and we hit the roulette wheel with our coupons. Dee played odd and hit for a nice $50 win and I played black and hit that too. This was a nice $100 hit and run for us and brought us to 13 for 24 on match plays.

It was getting late so we came back up here to Red Rock relaxed for a while before heading to bed.

Total win/loss for the day $0
Total comps for the day $776
