Day 17
Monday July 9, 2007

Well we all woke up this morning feeling like crap and hearing loud music coming into the room from the pool area. After a while of getting motivated we went to lunch at Mr. Lucky’s. I only had some soup and some toast since I still felt like crap from over doing it last night.

We went to the slot club after lunch to pick up our DVD players and everything was there and in order. It’s a pretty nice prize but certainly doesn’t compensate for the cash I’ve dropped this week!

It’s once again moving day today so after packing up my stuff yet again it was time to head over to Paris. I haven’t stayed here in over a year. While I like the hotel, I’m not a huge fan of the casino. I’ll be staying here for 4 nights on the Summerfest Slot Tournament offer. I checked in at the diamond check in area and things were a little slow. I still don’t understand why I can check into a room in less than 3 minutes and it takes other people over 10. They gave me room 2561. This is a newly renovated room with a king bed, work desk, side table, alarm clock with ipod docking stations, sitting area with a small couch and coffee table. There is a wall unit with closets, mini bar system and huge flat screen TV. The bathroom had a vanity, soaking tub, glass shower stall and toilet. I have a view of the airport, Ellis Island, Terrible’s and the Hard Rock.

After checking out the room I went downstairs to Le Central Lounge for a meet that was organized on the Las Vegas Talk Discussion Board. Some long time regulars were at this meet and it was fun to see them again.

When the meet was over I got my stuff from the car and up to the room and then took a much needed nap for an hour. Rich and Dawn stopped by and we went to have a light meal at the diamond lounger for dinner. Tonight they had the standard salads, sandwiches, cheese & crackers, and fruit. For hot items they had chicken wings and vegetable rolls. They also had a nice assortment of desserts like they always have here. One thing that amazes me is the way some of these people act when it comes to free food. They act like if they don’t charge the line and get there first, they won’t get any.

Rich has to go home tomorrow (Dawn’s staying another day) so they headed out early to get things packed and up and ready to go home. I took a walk down the strip and went to Harrah’s to watch the dueling pianos. The twins were off tonight but the guys they had were still good. I hung out here for a quite a while before starting the walk back. I made stops at Imperial Palace and actually went up to the sports book area, where I hadn’t been in many years. There’s not much up here these days other than a few machines and a Karaoke bar. I also stopped off at Bill’s Gambling Hall and played a penny slot for a little while. $10 lasted a long time but eventually disappeared.

Next up I hit Planet Hollywood for some craps action. I cut my bets back quite a bit again but it still didn’t matter. After a few hours of action I dropped about 2k. It seems like just as the shooter was getting hot and the bets would get loaded up, the seven would show up. This game is getting really disappointing to me and with this loss I’m actually down for the trip. This isn’t a good thing considering the royals I’ve hit and the decent wins I had at the Hard Rock on the first day I was there.

On my way back through Paris I saw dealer Ned, a long time dealer formerly from Fiesta Henderson, back in the days when the dealers there were good (now it’s a break in joint for Stations). We talked for a while as he dealt a game of blackjack. The players on his game were fun and so is he. I miss him up at Fiesta.

I finally came up to the room at about 3am before giving up for the day. I’m really hoping things turn around for the remainder of the trip.

Total win/loss for the day -$2000
Total comps for the day $151
