Day 18
Tuesday July 10, 2007

Today I just slept in and relaxed until early afternoon. It was a much needed break after all of the action the last few days. To save on bankroll I took a strip tour and took some new pictures (soon to be added my website). I haven’t done this in quite a while and other than the heat it was fun.

For dinner I hit the diamond lounge at Caesars Palace. It was the usual offerings of salads and sandwich wraps, cheese and crackers, and fruits and desserts. While I was there Dawn showed up and we hung out here for a while and watched some of the Baseball All-Star game.

After we left the diamond lounge we walked over to Bellagio and checked out the conservatory. I haven’t been there in a year and I’m amazed at how many flowers they can get into this room. Dawn left a little while after this to get ready for tomorrow’s flight. I decided to continue to save bankroll and went over to the Pinball Hall of Fame. I got there around 8:30pm and played games until they closed at 11.

Being that it was still early I didn’t want to go back to Paris yet so I decided on South Point. They’re running a gas card promotion where there give you a $25 gas card for only $12.50 in points so it’s like getting 2X points. I started off with 8/5 bonus 5-play. The machine wasn’t as streaky as they have been and I was staying alive. I did have to feed another bill into the machine and I switched to DDB since I had only 2 quads the whole time so far. This was a good move because I hit a few quads right away. Oddly the credit meter was holding steady even though I wasn’t getting very many dealt winners. I did hit a straight flush on an inside draw. I think the main thing that kept me alive were a fair amount of quads and an abundance of full houses. It seemed like every few hands I was drawing a full house or 2 and those really added up. Quads continued to show up but I wasn’t getting any bonus quads or kickers. That was until I held a single ace and pulled 4 aces on the bottom line. I was happy with this and would now walk away a winner. My plan was just to play the meter down to an even $400. A few minutes after the aces was when it happened though. No, it wasn’t a royal like you’re thinking. It was dealt aces. Now this hand is already worth $1000 as it is but on the draw there’s a chance of a kicker. I did hit a kicker on one hand and the machine locked up. Ugh, another w2g for a $1300 pay out. After my hand pay I continued to play and decided to take the meter down to $300. Then about 15 minutes later I held 1 ace and hit aces with a kicker on line 5 for another $500. This was getting fun. I continued to play for another hour and the full houses continued to keep me alive despite a lack of dealt winners. I’m amazed at how such a volatile game is keeping me going. Even excluding the aces hits I got a lot of action tonight. I finally cashed out of the machine with the meter at $700 for an additional $500 win.

For a late night meal I hit the Coronado Café for one of their late night special. I had the 2 eggs, toast, hash browns, and bacon for $1.95. The service in here tonight was awful. The girl working the counter took forever to take orders, and then didn’t know who had ordered already when she came back. Then when the food came out she had no idea who ordered what.

I left South Point at about 3:30 and got back to the room just before 4am and end another day.

Total win/loss for the day $1800
Total comps for the day $141
