Day 7 Thursday July 15, 2004

Dining:
The first stop today was to drop off my laundry and then me and Yahtzee Mike went over to Barley’s to cash in on some free pizza with some coupons we had. This is a great coupon and there are no strings attached to get this free pizza other than having a player’s card. While we were waiting for the pizza to cook we played some 5-cent blackjack on a multi game machine 1 coin at a time. When the pizzas were ready I was up a quarter and cashed out a winner!

After craps and video poker me and Mike got some comps for dinner at Victory’s Café in the Cannery. I ordered the blackened rib eye and got the king cut. This meal comes with soup or salad, potato and vegetable. Tonight’s soup was chicken noodle. The steak was excellent and the service was good. A huge difference from the crap we dealt with last night at the Upper Deck.

Gaming:
After lunch at Barley’s me and Mike headed up to the Cannery to play for 5X points and get in on the gift card promo again. I tried out some triple play games and went with the 8/5 bonus again. I hit a quad right off the bat and it was on the bottom line so I cashed in a 50-coin bonus coupon from the POV. A few minutes later I hit another quad followed by a 3rd. Then the machine sucked every bit of money I had in it. It just went cold. No dealt winners were coming up and I couldn’t pull a hand. After dropping $200 I tried 1 more $100 on 5-play. This didn’t work out and I was now down $300.

After my ass kicking on VP I took a shot on the craps table. I bought in for $300 and was quickly down $200. Not one person could shoot worth a shit. That includes myself going out 1 roll after establishing a point on 2 different rolls. When the dice made it back to me for the 3rd time I was down to only $75 so it was do or die right here. Well I did and had a 25 minute roll that was worth over $500 bringing me back to the plus side for the session. Part way through my roll Mike made his way over and got into the game too. I even rolled myself a field number when I bet with a match play and won it.

The next shooter went out right away but it didn’t hurt too much. Then the guy on the hook shot for 35 minutes and the whole table was on fire and everyone was making money. His roll was worth over $500 for me too and I was now up quite a bit.

I decided to give another shooter a chance and this guy Willie was up. Willie was a great shooter too and he rolled for another 30 minutes. Willie was the huge winner for this game. He only bought in for $20 and walked away with over $1800.

The next 2 shooters sucked and me and Mike cashed out. This was one of the best craps sessions I’ve ever had and I finished it with over $1400 in profits. Now that was a fun session!

After craps I took one more shot at some video poker and sat at another triple play machine. On the 4th hand I pulled 4 aces on the top line for $100. Shortly after I held three 5’s and connected with a 4th one on the bottom line and top line. Since today’s card of the day was 5 and I had quad 5’s on the bottom line I got a 100 bonus for this. I cashed out this session with a $200 win and we headed to the slot club to collect some gift cards before we went to dinner at the coffee shop.

After returning to the Las Vegas Club and a short break I went down to the casino and took a shot at some DDB video poker I don’t usually play this but thought I’d take a shot hoping to hit a high paying quad. About 20 hands in I’m dealt three 4’s and draw the 4th for a $100 win!

After cashing out I went over to Main Street Station to meet up with Mike again. We played some VP and I lost $60 in about 20 minutes.

Next up was blackjack. Again, I don’t play much blackjack these days but I thought it would be a good change of pace. Tonight reminds me of why I gave up blackjack. The dealer kept making 6 card hands and I was losing and pushing with 19’s and 20’s. I dropped $200 here and called it a night.
