Day 23
Sunday July 15, 2007

Well today is the last full day of this trip. I’m amazed at how fast this trip actually went. I slept in pretty late today and didn’t leave the room until around 3pm. I decided I didn’t want to gamble anymore so I did what I usually do these days when I don’t want to gamble. I go to the Pinball Hall of Fame, the home of bankroll preservation with a quick stop at Jack in the Box for a fast lunch.

Today is the last day the New Frontier will be open. I met Anne here and a few of her co workers. I’d never been to a casino closing before. Other than a band playing it seemed like business as usual though. It started getting busier towards the end of the evening but most of the people in the casino were actually employees. Although I haven’t been a huge fan of the Frontier the last few years I’ll be sad to see it go. It was one of the first places in town to comp my rooms on weekends years ago when I was a regular there playing quarter FPDW with a progressive for hours a day. Ah, the good old days. We left the Frontier at about 11:30 and they were scheduled to close at midnight. The only reason I left was because I didn’t want to be part of the crowds that were sure to form and I hate crowds.

When I left the Frontier I went over to the Hard Rock to check my comp account (but definitely not play). It turns out I still have $250 in comps. I got a $20 comp to the café for dinner and I’ll stop back tomorrow to burn the rest in the gift shop since they’ll expire before my next visit.

While I was eating some freak came and sat down next to me. This guy was way out there folks. There must have been 10 empty seats at the counter and this clown sits right next to me. Luckily another guy came in and sat next to him and he moved over and bothered that guy instead. Then as luck would have it, another freak, this time totally drunk sits next to me. I asked the waitress if I had a sign on my back directing the freaks to sit next me. Anyway, enough about those ass clowns. I ordered the chicken fried streak and it wasn’t very good tonight. It seemed to be a different quality that it has been in the past. I topped off dinner with a hot fudge sundae and then headed back to the Hilton to clean out the car and pack things up for tomorrow’s trip home. Ugh, I really hate having to do this!

Total win/loss for the day $0
Total comps for the day $106
