Day 3
Monday August 8, 2005

Meets:
Today I was going to attend a meet at the Polo towers that was organized on the Las Vegas Talk Discussion Board. Due to some great craps action I had to miss it.

Dining:
Lunch today was at the Baja Beach Café at Fiesta Henderson and I went with my favorite Feel Good Soup. The chicken, which is usually marinated and today it didn’t seem like it was. Other than that though it was good and filled the void.

After craps at the Silverton I was going to hit the coffee shop but it was closed for some renovations, as was the deli so I had to hit the buffet. I’m not a big fan of buffets but this one isn’t too bad. It’s not great but I’ve definitely had worse. All of the foods I had were good, especially the prime rib which was as good as any prime rib you’d order in a restaurant. The desserts were very weak though.

Gaming:
Today I went up to the Fiesta Henderson for the first time this trip. I’ll actually be staying here at the end of the week but I always like playing here. I activated my 3X points coupon for the quarter that they sent me and hit the triple play progressives. Things weren’t good here and I only hit a few quads. I got about an hour of play out of $200.

Next up was craps. This was just not my day for gambling so far. This table was pretty cold, but then would start to warm up. Then just as things were starting to turn, the shooter would 7 out. I dropped $500 here and it was now my turn to shoot again so I dipped into the pocket for another $100, dropping this too. After this session from hell and my VP action earlier I have now lost just about everything I was up.

From Fiesta Henderson I went down to he Hard Rock. I heard some cheering at the craps game and was able to get a spot. I have a credit line here and took out a marker. Normally I bet like a maniac when I’m here but today I started off behaving myself since there is still another 10 days left on this trip. To say this table was great would be an understatement! It made the table me and Yahtzee Mike were on last year at Cannery look cold. Everyone was having great rolls, except for myself. I was the only person on the game that didn’t roll the dice more than 3 times during any one of my 4 rolls. Other than my initial bets I was never into my original buy in. After a while I started betting like a maniac though and after a little over 3 hours I paid off my marker and took $3500 in chips to the cage for my largest win ever at the craps tables.

After taking the Hard Rock for $3500 I headed over to Silverton. Since I was up I took a hot with some $1 video poker and went with the ever-volatile DDB. In just a few minutes I was dealt 3 aces and pulled the 4th, but wit no kicker for $800. I only hit one other quad after this and the machine got tight. I cashed out with only a $400 win and headed to the craps table.

This craps table was as rough as the table up in Henderson earlier today. I got about 2 hours of action on this table but eventually lost everything I won on the $1 video poker.

After dinner I hit a bonus deuces wild machine that had a progressive worth over $2000 for quarter play. The paytables sucked on this game but I thought for short term it was worth a shot at a large progressive. I didn’t hit anything good and only hit 2 wild royals the whole session. I dropped $100 on this game and called it a night since it was starting to get late and I was tired.

Total win/loss for the day: $2650
Total comps for the day: $148
