Day 4
Tuesday August 9, 2005
Dining:
For a late lunch I just grabbed some Jack in the Box in order to save my appetite for tonight’s dinner. Lunch for $1.06, you’ve just gotta love it!
For dinner I met Anne and family for sinner at Bucco di Peppo on Flamingo Road. This is an Italian “family style” atmosphere with huge portions. The food was ok but I wasn’t all that impressed. I prefer Bootleggers Bistro to this place any day of the week.
Gaming:
I started off today with some video poker over at the Orleans. They were offering double points today so I thought it was a good deal. For a change of pace I played NSUD. I’m not really a big fan of this game but I thought I’d take a shot at hitting some deuces. I had no luck here and dropped $100 in no time and only got a little over $200 in action.
From here I played a twenty in the Othello penny slots. I got to play for quite a while but like always on slots, I lost!
After losing on Othello I went back to the NSUD machines again. I got quite a bit of play this time but no deuces. I quit after about 2 hours with a $30 win before heading out to Fiesta Henderson.
When I got to Fiesta Henderson I hit the craps table. The entire casino was dead and there were only 2 players on this table. Things started out tough with everyone going out on their first roll. The table got a little better but was still choppy. I had a good roll about an hour into the session followed by 2 more good rolls by the next shooter. After almost 3 hours I quit with a win of $300. From here it was on to dinner.
After dinner I went out to Boulder Station. For another change of pace I played some double deck blackjack. It was nice to relax playing a little blackjack for low stakes instead of the high limits I used to play for. During the session though I remembered why I gave up playing this game on a regular basis. Things like losing with 20, and pushing with 21 and blackjack. 2 good rounds made me a few bucks and after about 2 hours I cashed out with a nice $100 win. Not huge but a win is a win.
From Boulder Station I headed back to the Rio to call it a night but it was way too early. I didn’t want to play anything more tonight in order to protect some of the earlier wins but I did go down to the casino here at the Rio and played a variety of penny slots for entertainment value. I played for about 90 minutes machine hopping and lost a bunch of odd bills I had in my pocket before packing it in for the night.
Total win/loss for the day: $200
Total comps for the day: $120
