Day 7
Friday August 12, 2005

Trip to Vegas:
I left Laughlin and made my way back up to Las Vegas. The ride back up to Vegas was pretty uneventful and I made pretty good time arriving at the Fiesta Henderson in just 1 hour and 10 minutes. Yes, I was flying!

Hotel:
Arrived up in Henderson from Laughlin at about 1:30 and checked into Fiesta Henderson where I’d be spending the next 2 nights comped through my host here. I hate these 2 night stays but a great mailed offer I’ll be using later in the week caused me to change my original plans. From check in to room is always just a few minutes total and today was no exception. While I was in line at check in Yahtzee Mike came walking by and we decided to meet for some VP in a little while.

This is my first stay here since they renovated the rooms here and I was given room 6110. They’ve been promoting the fact that they have renovated the rooms here and I was a little disappointed to see all they did was change the carpet, paint, and put in a new TV. The bathrooms weren’t touched and still have the old Reserve wallpaper. All of the furniture in the room is from the old Reserve days too. After I got settled into the room it was time for some video poker!

Dining:
For lunch I just munched on left over stuff and snack foods on the ride up to Vegas. This pretty much held me over until dinner.

For dinner I went to the Baja Beach Café with Yahtzee Mike. I had the Feel Good Soup again and it was much better tonight than it was last time I had it. Mike covered the bill with a comp from the pit.

Gaming:
I met up with Mike after checking into the room and we hit the triple play progressives. These machines have a meter for each line and one for a dealt royal. While we were playing our friends Rich and Dawn arrived. I had very little luck on these machines. I only hit 3 quads the whole session. I was down almost $200 when a few dealt full houses and other smaller wins got me back up to $100 and I cashed out with a $100 loss.

Next up was some multi strike. This was ok for a while and I was staying pretty even until I went 9 straight hands without getting off the bottom line. This put me in a downward spiral that I couldn’t get out of. I dropped another $100 here.

After a short break and meeting up with out host we went and played some pick ‘em. I started out pretty good here hitting a full house right off the bat but then couldn’t hit anything else. I had a few more full houses and flush hits but couldn’t get the big quad before dropping $50. Since we were all playing together instead of moving I just switched games and started playing some short pay deuces crap. I got to play for a while but didn’t hit anything good and dropped another $50. When we were all done here Rich and Dawn left and Mike and me went to dinner.

After dinner me and Mike took one more shot at the triple play progressives. I dropped another $100 in short order. I tried one last time and got to play another hour or so on it. I still wasn’t hitting any quads but did manage to hit aces and get quad 5’s dealt to me. I actually got ahead and cashed out this session with a $50 win. While I was playing the lady on my left hit a royal on the bottom line. After she got paid she moved 2 machines down and 10 minutes later hit another one. Nothing against her but this really pissed me off since it’s been about 90,000 hands and 8 months since my last royal flush.

Total win/loss for the day: -$250
Total comps for the day: $80
