Day 9
Sunday August 14, 2005

Hotel:
Today is moving day and I’m moving over to Green Valley Ranch on a 3 night comped stay through a mail offer. I’ve stayed here one time before and while the hotel was nice I thought it was over rated. I am in room 8332 in the new East Tower. The rooms in the East Tower are pretty much the same as they are in the older West Tower. This is a king room and has a nice oversized work desk, arm chair, ottoman and end table. There are nightstands on each side of the bed. There is a flat screen TV and Bose stereo along with a table full of over priced snacks and drinks. The bathroom is large with a bathtub, separate shower stall and large vanity. The toilet is in a separate room. They also offer a large assortment of Gilchrist and Soames Toiletries in large bottles. At night they have turndown service and leave bottled water and turn the radio on for you.

Meets:
Today there was a meet at Caesars Palace that was organized on the Las Vegas Talk Discussion Board and was dubbed the Seinfeld meet by the original poster that set this meet up. There was quite a turnout for this meet and Daveydoesmore covered all the drinks. Thanks Davey.

Dining:
Lunch today is what I would consider lunch of champions as I shoveled ½ a can of Pringles down my throat. Yeah, real healthy, I know. Then I wonder why I’m getting fat!

After the Cannery I went back up to Green Valley. I met up with the Boston’s for dinner at the GVR buffet. I used the POV 2 for 1 coupon for 50% off and then used points to pay the balance. I’ve heard rave reviews of this buffet for years and finally got to try it tonight. While I’m still not a big fan of buffets this is one of the better ones around town.

Gaming:
After the meet at Caesars I went up to the Cannery to hit the VISA card promotion one more time. As usual I hit the 8/5 bonus triple plays. I hit quad aces right off the bat but that was about all I hit the rest of the time. I ended up dropping $300 here in what was probably one of my worst sessions of triple play ever. I grabbed my $30 in VISA cards and another $20 in Wal-Mart cards and thought, this isn’t how promos are supposed to work! I also hit the craps table while I as up there but the table was too up and down so I got out with no win or loss. The way things have been going I’ll consider it a win though!

After dinner we went to the Drop Bar and played VP and had drinks. Surprisingly they have a progressive for quarters in there with decent pay tables. This caught me by surprise. The progressive was over $1300 but some tool hit it and it went back down to $1000. I played for about 4 hours and dropped yet another $200. The last 3 days have just been awful as far as gambling goes.

Total win/loss for the day: -$500
Total comps for the day: $236
