Day 9 Thursday August 15, 2002

I woke up really late today for some reason. I guess I was pretty tired from all that losing I’ve done the last 2 days. By the time I got packed up and out of the room it as near 1pm. Check out is 12 noon. Oh well, I think they’ll get over it. From here it was up to the Suncoast where I’ll be spending the next 4 days comped in a suite. My host treats me pretty well here based on my VP action. I made this my main casino since Sam’s Town screwed all of their long time players when they changed their slot club a few years ago.

Check in was a breeze as it usually is here. I was given room 1037 with a view of the golf course and pool area. This suite is the same as the last few I had with a separate living room and bedroom. The suite is about 1000 square feet, which compares to my house that is almost 1100. For those that don’t remember or haven’t read my previous reports this is the room with 7 telephones, and 4 TV’s including a TV and 2 phones in the bathroom.

After I got everything I needed unpacked I tried my luck down in the casino. It seems that nothing has changed and my terrible luck still follows me around. I lost at everything I tried from quarter single line deuces wild to 10-play bonus poker to $1 bonus poker. My luck is still so bad right now that I’m getting no playtime for my money and not having very much fun at all. I can handle losing but it seems that for my last few days the losses are so large and so fast. I decided after this losing session to go up to the room and nap for a while and try to forget all that has (or hasn’t) happened the last few days.

I woke up about 2 hours later shocked I slept for so long. Feeling better I went back down to the casino to try a little more VP. I think I would have been better off writing a check to Coast Resorts instead of playing. I dropped $100 again this session playing single line quarter games. Even though I am down hard at this point I still took a shot with some $1 VP. This was a whole lot of fun since I lost another $100 in under 5 minutes. Other than one straight I didn’t get one hand better than 2 pair. This is really not any fun at all at this point. I’ve had bad luck and lost plenty of times but this session only took 45 minutes to lose another $200. I’ve seen VP swings before but I don’t understand what’s happening this time. When I’m playing deuces wild I’m going 40-50 hands without seeing a deuce and almost as many hands without even getting a win. There is no way this normal and it’s gotta change. The question is when will it change and will my bankroll be able to survive.

After this miserable session I came back up to the room to try to calm down. With every session I play I seem to lose faster each time and I’m getting really pissed off. I don’t know what else to do other than to keep taking breaks hoping that my luck will change then next time I play.

After this break I started with FPDW. The machine was sucking my money down faster then ever but a few big hands got me back even and then out of no where I hit 4 deuces. With this little win I quit and went and played craps. They have $2 tables here but they only offer double odds. Things at this table were great and people were shooting well hitting lots of numbers and making their points. It was a great change of pace for me considering how bad it was the last few days. I cashed out at this table up $100.

It was now about 3am and I was starving because I hadn’t really eaten anything all day. I went over to Café Siena and got one of their late night specials for 99 cents. I had the pancakes, sausage and eggs. Service was good tonight and so was the food. For 99 cents you just can’t beat this deal. After this meal it was time for bed. Another day I would like to forget!

Total win/loss for the day -$400
Total comps for the day $59
