Day 11 Saturday August 17, 2002
Up around noon again today and down to the pool. I spent a few hours down here like I have been each day so far. Today the water was a little cooler than it was yesterday and a little more refreshing too.
After getting back to he room from the pool and getting ready for the day I went down to the casino with the hopes that things were going to be good today. I started off with quarter triple play. I got quite a bit of play out of this machine hitting a few quads along the way to keep me going. Of course I eventually lost, as has been the theme for this trip. After the initial quads I got there weren’t any more along the way to keep me going. Between that and a lack of dealt winners there’s just no way to win on triple play.
I moved over to a bank of FPDW and I think the deuces were on strike again. They just weren’t coming up at all. I think this is a part of the cruel joke someone is playing on me. Even though the deuces weren’t showing up I was getting enough natural hands (including quads-ugh!) to keep me playing for a while. Once again though I lost here too. It only takes so long before a lack of deuces kills you.
Since this session was a bust I went up to the room to rest for a while. Between staring at VP screens all day long and sitting in the sun most of the morning I was beat and it was time for a short nap.
When I woke up it was almost 3 hours later. So much for a short nap. I went back to the casino and tried my luck with more triple play video poker. Things seemed to be getting better from what I can see based on the sole fact I’m actually getting playtime for my money even though the end results are the same.
After triple play I went back over to single line FPDW. This was a great session including hitting the deuces for 1000 coins. This is the second time at the Suncoast this trip I hit them and both times I forgot I had a coupon or a 20 coin bonus on any jackpot over 500 coins. This was a session more like what I had been accustomed to playing deuces. One low point of the session was being dealt 4 aces for a whopping 25 coins. Why couldn’t this have happened when I was playing 8/5 bonus on the triple play machines? My buy in this session lasted over 5 hours allowing me to run $5,000 in action through the machine. I haven’t had a session this long in quite some time but I wish they would be more frequent!
It was now after midnight and I was starving since I hadn’t eaten much today other than some chips and snacks during the afternoon. I went over to Café Siena. This place was packed but I was able to grab a seat at the counter. The service in here tonight was horrible and the waitress working the counter doesn’t seem to have a clue as to what the hell was going in. I ordered off the Chinese menu tonight. I tried one of their soups called Lei’s Noodle Soup. You can get it with your choice of beef, chicken, or pork. I chose the pork this time. This soup is very similar to the Feel Good Soup I get up at Fiesta Henderson but has no wontons. It was good but is no match for the Feel Good.
After I was done eating it was getting really late so I came up to the room and this is where we are now in the report!
