Day 12 Sunday August 18, 2002

I got up a little earlier today and started off the day down at the pool. The weather seemed to have cooled off a little because in the shade it wasn’t as hot as it had been. In the sun it’s still hotter than hell though. The water seemed a little cooler again today than it did yesterday and was a good way to cool off from the hot sun.

After I got back from the pool and got ready I decided to leave the Suncoast for the day. After last night’s marathon session on the deuces machine I have enough play in for this visit that my daily average will still be the same as it usually is. They valet brought my car in what was close to record time and I was on my way to the strip. I didn’t have a destination in my mind as to where I was going to go but I eventually stopped off at the Hard Rock. For a Sunday afternoon this place was packed. It looked like the weekend crowd was staying late today before heading back home. All the tables were packed so I just wandered around for a while and watched some half-naked girls throw the dice at one of the craps tables. I couldn’t tell for sure from where I was standing but I thought the dealers were getting a free peep show every time one of these girls went to grab the dice or make a bet. Of course I had to investigate a little and as I made my way around to the backside of the craps pit my guess was right on. The dealers on this game were the luckiest bastards in the place today! Since the place was so packed I left without playing and went up to Fiesta Henderson.

When I got to the Fiesta I got a spot on the craps table. I got there in the middle of a roll and the lady that was shooting was on fire. She was hitting number after number and making point after point. Everyone on the table was making money until she finally sevened out. The table stayed good for quite a while with all shooters (except me, who sevened out right after making my point) were doing well. There was even one guy who was a little Nancy Boy that for some reason couldn’t seem to get the dice to the other end of the table. All of the dealers were even making fun of him. He didn’t seem to care and neither did anyone else because he was making a bunch of money for everyone. Soon after Nancy sevened out the table went cold. Most people left but I was up quite a bit so I was going to wait until it was my turn to shoot again. For a change I actually shot well for a change and held the dice for about 20 minutes. I made back everything that I lost when the table went cold and a little extra. By now the table was getting packed and it was time for the Nancy Boy to shoot again. He did great again this time and he also held the dice for about 20 minutes making everyone at the table a lot of money and giving everyone a good laugh.

The table remained hot for a while and then as packed as it was 2 old bags decided they had to squeeze into this table even though it was already packed. One of them squeezed in on each side of me. They both bought in for a whopping $20 and didn’t make any bets. My first thought was they might be rail robbers but then I determined they weren’t rail robbers they were just stupid, ignorant old bags. First, they had to squeeze into a game that was already packed, then didn’t bet. Then when they did bet the guy was betting $1 on the big 6, and big 8. These are about the 2 worst bets on the layout. They are so bad that in Atlantic City the Casino Control Commission won’t even allow them on the layout! When the lady actually bet she was betting big red (any 7) on the come out roll and the field. The only time either one of them placed a line bet was when it was their turn to shoot. When the lady actually did make a line bet it was $2. (Actually a good bet on a $1 table). Then, after the point was established she would place $1 in odds. Now I’m no craps expert but on a $1 game why in the hell would anyone bet $2 on the line and take $1 in odds? The Fiesta is pretty generous in offering 10X odds on a $1 table and here is this dumb ass betting $2 on the line and taking ½ odds (which will pay even money and not true odds). Now if this wasn’t bad enough the guy reeked of body odor. It was so bad that after about 5 minutes of him standing next to me I had to color up and leave. That was a damn shame too because this was the best craps run I have ever had. It might have been a good thing though because I had just colored up almost $400 in profit.

Since I was at the Fiesta and it was time to eat I went over to the coffee shop and got my Feel Good Soup again even though I’ve had it twice already and a similar version of it last night. It was as good as it usually is and hit the spot. This place was packed but the counter was empty so I got a seat right away. The service was pretty good considering how busy it was and this place is famous for crappy service at the counter, especially when it is busy.

After eating I headed back up here to the Suncoast. Both of these places are both on extreme ends of the city and are actually about 23 miles apart from door to door. I used the valet to park the car and they were right there to take care of me. This has got to be one of the best valets in town that I have ever used.

When I entered the casino I stopped off at Kate’s Korner for some ice cream. When I checked in they gave me a fun book with a coupon in it for a free scoop so I cashed in on that perk! The place was pretty crowded and there isn’t much room to move in this section but that didn’t seem to stop some guy in a wheel chair from deciding it would be ok to start doing donuts in his motorized wheelchair. Now I know it must suck to be stuck in a wheelchair but come on. This isn’t the time or the place to do donuts.

I took my ice cream (butter pecan) up to the room and started to wind down for the night and work on my report. That’s where we are right now. It’s not very late but I’m beat. I’m not usually tired so early but I think the sun is what has really been kicking my ass the last few days and I didn’t nap today so it’s time to jump into bed and watch TV for a while before ending this day. Unfortunately this is the last night I have in this great suite and tomorrow is moving day.

Total win/loss for the day $400 <--- Winner, I won. Whoo hooo!
Total comps for the day $66
