Day 15
Saturday August 20, 2005

Dining:
On my way to the airport I made one last stop at Jack in the Box for a quick lunch and to get something to take on the plane with me.

Gaming:
After I checked out of the Hard Rock I still had a few hours left before I had to head to the airport. I decided I’d hit the Cannery one last time on the VISA card promotion. I started off with my normal 8/5 bonus triple play machines. I was not hitting any quads and the dealt winners were far and few. I finally managed to hit a few quads but they were too late. I was down $200. I made the switch to DDB even though the pay table is awful. I dropped $100 in quick order. Being that I was up quite a bit I tried one last shot with 5 play DDB hoping I might hit a bonus quad or aces to bring the loss up to a reasonable amount. I didn’t hit either but on a 3 card hold I popped a royal flush for the first time since December of last year and almost 120,000 hands. After the hand pay I was playing off the rest of my credits when I was dealt quad 7’s for another 1250 coins. Too bad it wasn’t a bonus quad or something with a kicker! I cashed out of the machine only down $86 (excluding the royal).

After gathering my gift cards and some cash back I headed out of the Cannery taking advantage of a promo and winning a nice chunk of cash. Now this is how a promo is supposed to work! From here it was on to the airport and time to wrap up another trip.

Flight:
After dropping off the rental car I arrived at the airport for my flight home. Check in was quick and painless today. Security had a short line and moved quickly except for a few tools that don’t know they need to empty their pockets. Today I’m on flight 216 departing at 3:57pm and flying non-stop to Newark arriving at 11:47pm. The flight home was bumpy at times as we were flying around a lot of storms. I did get to catch some really cool lightning storms at various points along the way. Baggage claim was quick tonight and I had both my bags in near record time. After getting my bags I was on my way to the monorail and Avis.

Trip home from airport:
My ride home tonight is in a rental car from Avis. This time I booked a Premium car for $39 and oddly at the time I booked this car it was $12 cheaper than a full sized car. I was given a Buick LeSabre with 3300 miles on it. I was a little pissed off at the fact this car was supposed to come with XM Satellite Radio and it wasn’t activated. The roads were pretty empty being it was a late Saturday night and I pulled into my driveway at 2am and another trip came to an end.

The next day when I went to return the car to my local Avis I told the girl at the counter that the XM didn’t work. She printed out my final receipt and said she took $25 off for the radio not working and my final price was $59. I told her it sounded a little high especially after the adjustment. She looked and had me at a rate of $92 per day. I don’t think so! I showed her my confirmation and she made the adjustments but couldn’t take the $25 off because my rate was way too law and the computer wouldn’t allow it. Instead, she gave me a $25 off coupon for a future rental.

Total win/loss for the day: $950
Total comps for the day: $70
