Day 3 Wednesday October 15, 2003

Gaming:
Met up with Yahtzee Mike downtown at the Plaza. The plan today was to give some action to some of the downtown properties to see if any mail offers would show up after some play. We started over at the Fremont and played Pick ‘em and 8/5-bonus. I had no luck here and between the 2 games lost $120.

NOTE: The downtown Boyd properties (California, Main Street Station, and Fremont) have finally combined their slot clubs. I had a problem with my points accumulating and after our play the machines showed very few points. A stop at the slot club booth showed I played 2.2 hours (correct) but only played $146 through the machines. This was way off. It’s pretty much impossible to lose $120 and only get $146 in action on a quarter game. The guy at the slot club booth tried to help but told me he had limited power and said to see the slot club manager tomorrow to try and get it worked out.

From the Fremont we went over to Fitzgerald’s. Yahtzee never saw the 17/10 Loose Deuces machine so we checked that out real fast and then played some craps on their $3 10X odds table. I walked away from here with a $70 win.

The final stop was the Golden Nugget. We played on one of their $5 games with 3, 4, 5 times odds. This table was tough and I dropped about $150 here.

Later in the night after eating dinner at the Hard Rock I played craps there. The table was up and down and after a few hours left the game with a loss of about $250. I just couldn’t get on a run here. Gambling didn’t seem to work out too well today!

Dining:
After meeting up with Yahtzee Mike downtown at the Plaza our first stop was to their snack bar for some free beef stew with a coupon from their quarterly newsletter. It’s actually very good and for free it’s even better.

For dinner I had a coupon from the Hard Rock that was good for $30 in food at any of their restaurants. I went to Mr. Lucky’s 24/7 Café. I ordered the T-bone steak dinner and topped it off with a huge slice of chocolate cake. The steak was very good and the cake was even better!

Total win/loss for the day -$450
Total comps for the day $224
