Day 4 Thursday October 16, 2003

Gaming:
I started off at the Sahara to play some video poker and use a few coupons. One being for a free hat with 100 points ($1000 coin in) and 100 free points when you earn 100 points. Since I was up I took a shot with some $1 play. This was a mistake and I couldn’t seem to hit anything decent to keep playing. I dropped $300 here.

Next stop was Cannery up in North Las Vegas. I’ve been here once before but never got a slot card. Today I got one and it came with a coupon book full of good deals. They are also giving away jackets this month for very little play. I started off with some VP and didn’t do very well. Not enough quads to keep playing on. I did hit a quad and used the coupon from the POV for a 50 coin bonus. After playing for about 2 hours I used some of the coupons in the book for a $5 gas voucher and a $10 home Depot gift card. I also had enough play for the free jacket. They also have a $3 craps game with 10X odds here. I got onto a game for $40 and also had a $5 match play from the coupon book. The table was cold and I lost everything.

After the Cannery I went back to the Rio to watch the Yankees-Red Sox playoff game. It was a great game with the Yankees winning in the bottom of the 11th inning.

After the game I went to the Hard Rock and used some coupons for $30 in slot play. This $30 didn’t last very long so it was time to play craps. The table was choppy and then got bad. Just as I thought I was going to lose my whole buy in there was a hot shooter and I got everything back, plus a $300 profit. Still ended up a loser for the day but this $300 win eased the pain!

Dining:
I wasn’t too hungry today so for the most part I only ate a bunch of junk food and snacked from time to time. Odd that I didn’t partake in a comped meal somewhere!
