Day 5 Friday October 17, 2003

Hotel:
Today was moving day up to Fiesta Henderson. I was able to check in early at a little after 12 noon. I’m in room 9102. It’s a king room with a view of the strip off in the distance. The rooms here are still the same as they have been since the old Reserve days with exception of the lights in the room. They have finally removed the old Giraffe lamps and replaced them with new ones. Also gone are the leopard print bedspreads.

Gaming:
Today is 5X points day at Fiesta so the plan was to play video poker most of the day. FPDW was my game of choice. This machine just swallowed up money hand after hand. During the session Yahtzee Mike showed up and took the machine next to me. He held his own while my machine continued to eat money. I couldn’t hit the bigger hands and the deuces just weren’t showing up. I dropped $300 here before giving up and heading to the craps table.

At the craps table things were up and down and one shooter got us all ahead (except the don’t player). I cashed out with a small $40 win but as bad as it was 40 bucks is better than nothing. Mike’s friend Jeff showed up during the craps session and joined us for a while.

After dinner we played more deuces wild. My downward spiral continued and I dropped another $200 in less than 2 hours. Mike held his own and Jeff hit deuces.

Next was more craps and this was the session from hell. Only 3 passes were made and I was getting paid on very few of my come bets. The money went quick here and I dropped another $200.

After getting killed at craps we decided one more session of deuces was in order. This session was no different than the other 2 I played. After 2 hours and another 100 bucks I called it a night and went to bed.

For those keeping score this was the worst day of FPDW I have ever had losing $600. All this in about 6 hours of action playing only 4500 hands. During all this play I only hit 3 wild royals and of course no deuces. This tops my record of about 18 months ago when I dropped $500 at the Palms.

Dining:
Had lunch over at Baja Beach Café after I got settled into the room. I had a BLT sandwich with French fries and then headed off to play deuces wild.

For dinner me, Mike, and Jeff went to the buffet. There was a huge line but Jeff had a coupon for 2 free buffets so that got us to the comp line. I used my points to pay for the 3rd buffet. Being a Macho Millionaire at Fiesta I got 50% off the buffet making dinner only $3.50! The food here was typical but pretty good as it usually is.
