Day 4
Tuesday October 17, 2006

Up at 10am today and got ready to go out. Today my plan is to hit Cannery for a while. I haven’t been playing up there as much the last few trips and I actually miss going up there. I played my usual 8/5 bonus triple/five play machines at the quarter level. Today they are running a promo where you earn 700 points and you get a logo denim jacket and you get to keep the points. In keeping with the theme from yesterday’s VP debacle quads were non-existent. I did eventually hit a few but they were too late to save me. The dealt winners weren’t happening either. I dropped $300 here in pretty short time and headed over to the craps table. It was a dead game and I shot by myself the entire time. I shot like crap too. I only had a few decent turns and dropped another $500 here. I guess the Cannery ATM that I once knew was broken.

From the Cannery I took my $800 jacket and drove to the Hard Rock again. I hit the craps table and things were pretty good at first. They slowed down for a while but the table wasn’t terrible. A few fair shooters made me some cash. Staying with the theme I couldn’t shoot for my life. I was up well over $1000 after a guy shot for about 10 minutes. I was about to quit but it was my turn to shoot. I bumped up my bets a little bit and ended up cutting my own throat. I cashed out the session with a $1015 win. That’s 3 days in a row with a win at the Hard Rock. It’s just too bad that the VP has been kicking my ass so bad.

After cashing out at the Hard Rock I went back down to the Pinball Hall of Fame to kill a few more hours. I just can’t get enough of this place and still to this day haven’t played all of the games they have in there.

For dinner I was going to the Silverton to meet my friends Anne and Steve. I got there early and tried out some $1 8/5 bonus VP. Still keeping with the theme of no quads I dropped $200 here in no time at all. Not only did I not hit any quads, I didn’t hit and full houses either. It was a painful session. Anne and Steve still weren’t there yet so I popped a $10 bill into a penny slot. I hit just one bonus round but it was pretty good. I also had a few lines that paid off over 1000 coins. I cashed out the session up 15 bucks by the time they showed up.

For dinner we went to the Sundance Grill. I had the open faced prime rib sandwich. It’s one of my favorite items from the Silverton’s menu. Everything was good here and after dinner we hit the casino.

I was playing more VP but this time played a progressive 7/5 bonus machine that had a fast meter that was pretty high. Out of $100 I was as low as $22 before I hit a quad. I kept pounding away and hit a few more quads including a few bonus quads and a bunch of full houses. I got the meter up to $240 which amazed me that after being down to $22 I got back up that high. I finished the session with $150 for a $50 win.

I left the Silverton and headed back to the Luxor and then walked over to the MGM to meet up with Gary and Ed in PA at 11:30pm for a quick mini meet. We hung out here for a while just bullshitting and then left at about 1am. After the meet I came back over here to the Luxor and of course had to fill the Jacuzzi up and jump in before going to bed.

Total win/loss for the day $50
Total comps for the day $537
