Day 7 Sunday October 19, 2003

Gaming:
I found Mike at a deuces wild slant top when I finally got down to the casino. We decided today that we were going to go to Green Valley Ranch and give them some action using a 3X points coupon and hopefully get on their mailing list. There have been many reports of people with very little action getting good mail offers for rooms. When we arrived we registered for our 3X points and then hit the optimum play machines and tried our luck on deuces wild again. Well the same thing was happening here that happened at Fiesta the last 2 days. Mike got whacked hard this time and I lost about $135.

From GVR we went to Barley’s to use match plays and have free pizza. If you recall last time we tried this move the free pizza ended up costing me $15. This time was a little different though. Mike played his match play first and won. I took a spot at the table and got dealt a 15. I had to hit against the dealers 7 and pulled a 4 for a 19. Unfortunately the dealer had a 5 underneath and pulled a 7 to also have a 19. I had to play another hand and lost. Yet another day where my free pizza was going to cost $20, or was it?

While we were waiting for the pizza to cook I popped 20 bucks into a deuces machine which I of course lost. Another 20 followed and I lost this one too. No my free pizza wasn’t going to cost $20 today; it was going to cost $60. Damn coupons!

From Barley’s we went to Tuscany. We both signed up for slot cards and got a free fun book. In the fun book there was a coupon for a free gift and a $5 match play. We used the match plays on craps. Mike bet the don’t but I took the pass line and bought in for $200. Mike won his match play and I lost mine. I also lost about another $75 on this cold table. We also played a few bucks through the VP machines to put a little play on our cards. I didn’t hit anything here but cashed out about even before we left.

As we were leaving I remembered we didn’t use our free gift coupon so we went back to the gift shop and got a free key chain. As I was flipping through the book I realized I had another $5 match play. I asked Mike how many match plays he had in his book and he said just 1. How could that be since I used mine when he used his. Then we flipped page by page through the book. It turns out I used a coupon for a $5 bonus when you cashed your paycheck as a match play. How funny is this that the table crew accepted a paycheck cashing coupon as a match play?

From Tuscany we went to Key Largo. Normally I wouldn’t go to this place because they have nothing to offer but I had a $5 match play from the POV and Mike had the casino perks coupons. I naturally lost my match play but Mike hit big with his match play and the Casino Perks $25 alternate play coupon.

Next stop was Terrible’s. I had a $10 match play and coupons for some other things. As always though the line at the slot club booth was a mile long so I played my match play and surprise, I lost again.

From here we went to Gold Coast to pick up Buddha and his wife Nancy to take them up to the Fiesta for the meet we had planned.

After dinner we hit the craps tables and things weren’t very good here. The table was choppy and I ended up losing a few hundred here. At this point I said eff it I’m not playing any thing else. I’m still up $100 and I’m keeping my $100 win for the trip!

Dining:
Lunch was at Barley’s today to take advantage of the free pizza coupons in the POV. The pizza here is pretty good for free. Unfortunately mine ended up costing me $60.

For dinner we went to the Baja Beach Café as part of the meet me and Mike had set up. I had the Feel Good Soup for one last time during the trip.

Meets:
After picking up Buddha and Nancy at the Gold Coast we went up to the Fiesta for the dinner meet we had planned. The dinner was at the coffee shop because a number of the attendees wanted to try the Feel Good Soup that I had recommended so many times in these very reports! Our host picked up the tab on this dinner giving Mike a $40 comp and giving me $35. This was more than enough to feed the 8 of us that were there. (Me, Mike, Buddha and wife Nancy, Color Me Up and his wife, and Las Vegas Norm and his wife Andrea). Me and Buddha topped off the soup with some great chocolate cake!

Total win/loss for the day -$650
Total comps for the day 101
