Day 6
Thursday October 19, 2006

Today is moving day over to Caesars Palace so I was up early to pack up. I also had to go to the box office early before I checked out so I could charge my show tickets to the room & go to breakfast.

The only show available with my offer while I’m out here was to see the Beach Boys on Saturday night. I took those and got decent seats not too far back from the stage. This is a nice comp worth $154.

For breakfast I hit the Pyramid Café one more time and ordered the Cranberry Walnut French Toast. It was cranberry nut bread grilled and topped with a cranberry walnut sauce with a side of bacon. The food was really good but I thought the sauce was a little too sweet.

After breakfast I actually had to go check out to get the show tickets taken off my bill because they showed up on my room charge. It was taken care of in just a minute and I was on my way to Caesars Palace.

When I got to Caesars parking was a bitch with the garage very crowded. I finally found a spot and made the 287-mile trek to the diamond check in. I was greeted and told I had a room reserved in the Augustus Tower. I asked for something in the Palace Tower that I could be upgraded to and was given room 740. I think this is what they call a petite suite. It’s got a long hallway leading into it with his and hers bathrooms. The “his” bathroom is pretty standard with the sink and a toilet in a separate room. The “hers” bathroom has a Vanity with a toilet and bidet in a small room. It also has a Jacuzzi tub in it. A shared shower connects both of these bathrooms. Continuing down the hallway there are closets on one side and a make up table on the other. The room itself has 2 queen beds with a nightstand, a very small sitting area with an armchair footrest and end table. There is also a work desk and a wall unit with a flat screen TV dresser and mini bar with all those over priced drinks and snacks! The room has a view of the pool complex and Bellagio.

Once I got settled into he room I headed down to the casino for some 9/6-jacks 5-play. Initially I couldn’t seem to hit anything, as has been the theme with VP so far this trip. I dropped $100 in short order followed by another $100. I decided I’d try 1 more bill before taking a break, although I wasn’t playing that long I even needed a break. This $100 seemed to be vanishing at a rapid pace as well until I was dealt a hand with 3 to a royal. I pulled a royal on line 2 for $1000 and I back in it for the day and much happier! I called Yahtzee Mike to tell him and shortly after the Boston’s showed up.

I took a break and we all went over to the promotions desk to get our $5 Macys gift card and win finders. Then we went back over to the VP machines and started playing a little more. Initially my machine picked up where it left off just eating credits but then loosened up. I started hitting quads and getting dealt winners. I eventually had the meter over $300 but then the machine went back in the vacuum mode again. I finally cashed out with about a $75 win for this session.

After VP we hit the diamond lounge here at Caesars. They offered sandwich wraps, fruit, and some salads along with an assortment of desserts. This was my dinner for the evening since I didn’t know the next time I was going to eat. After relaxing in the lounge for a while we split up and I had to get going to meet Steve and his friends for his bachelor party. I met everyone over at the New Frontier and we had a van take us over to Sheri’s Cabaret. This is a totally nude club so there’s no alcohol. It’s $25 to get in plus $10 for unlimited non-alcoholic drinks. That’s a total rip off but the advantage with this place is admission to Sheri’s gets admission and a shuttle ride to their sister property Seamless. Seamless is an upscale gentleman’s club (across from the Orleans) with a full (overpriced) bar and only topless. Sheri’s pretty much sucked. It was dead and the girls didn’t seem to want to work. Seamless was much better, way more girls and more energy.

We had to keep things calm tonight because Steve’s wedding is tomorrow. At about midnight we went back o the Frontier for a while and then I came back to Caesars Palace. I was hungry so I tried out the Augustus Café. They offer a VERY limited menu from midnight to 5am and there’s not much to choose from. The prices are pretty high as well. I had some BBQ Buffalo Chicken Wings. They were just chicken wings with a spicy BBQ sauce on them. They were served with carrots, celery, and bleu cheese. The service in here kind of sucked tonight but it wasn’t awful. It seemed like they were short staffed.

By the time I got out of the café it was going on 2am and I was exhausted and went right to bed. I didn’t even bother using the Jacuzzi tub tonight although I have to admit I missed it!

Total win/loss for the day $850
Total comps for the day $404
