Day 3 Monday December 15, 2003

Hotel:
I checked into the Hard Rock for the next 4 nights. The first 2 nights are comped up front through marketing and the second 2 nights are at casino rate of $69 each. Normally I don’t book rooms that I have to pay for but I figure my craps action should get those other 2 nights comped. Based on past play here I’ve had more comps that I knew what to do with. Unfortunately comps for table play expire after your trip. Also, for those of you keeping score, I am now registered at 3 hotels at the same time! This ties my record from a few years ago for the most rooms in one night!

I am in room 360. There is a view of part of the strip because I’m not high enough to see more of it. This room is also over the pool area. It has a king bed, 2 nightstands, coffee table, 2 large chairs, work desk, and TV. There is a dresser built into the closet with a safe in it and another closet by the door has 2 robes in it. Don’t steal the robes though or they’ll charge you $100 each!

The bathroom has a long counter with a steel sink, hair dryer, soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and even toothpaste. The tub seems deeper than normal.

Meets:
Attended a meet at Caesars Palace at the Galleria Lounge. This meet was organized on the Las Vegas Talk Discussion Board. Based on posts on the board there was supposed to be a big turnout for this meet.

Dining:
Ate at Fiesta Rancho in the Baja Beach Café. I had the turkey dinner special. Good as usual but again the service was lacking here. I spent more time waiting around than it took me to actually eat. While I was at the Fiesta I also picked up a $5 gas voucher with the coupon they sent me.

Gaming:
Played some 8/5-bonus poker at Cannery. Hit a few quads and cashed in another POV coupon for $13 extra dollars. By the end of the session I was about $70. I also scored enough points to get a $10 gift certificate for the Meadows or Boulevard Mall, a free roll of nickels, and the chance to pull an envelope out of the drum for a cash prize. I got $5.

After getting back to the Hard Rock it was time for some craps. The table was pretty even for the first 2 ½ hours. I was never down more than $200 or up more than $200. Then the table went to hell and I finished the session down $500.

Total win/loss for the day -$500
Total comps for the day $202
