Day 2
Friday December 15, 2006

I was up really early today at about 6am. I knew I would be having gone to bed so early last night. After I got motivated I hooked up with Mike and we headed up to Fiesta Rancho. Today is 5X points there, and Mike has a coupon for 2 free buffets.

We both sat down at some triple play progressives with 8/5 bonus. I had a rough start dropping $100 pretty quickly but on a second bill had a nice come back and hit 4 quads in about 10 minutes. I finished the session with a $101 win and we went to lunch.

I haven’t had the buffet here since back when Maloof owned the place. It was good back then but I’d since heard it went way down hill. We got there as soon as it opened and everything was fresh and unpicked through. I thought most of the foods were good and I didn’t find anything that was dried out since everything was just put out.

After leaving Fiesta Rancho it was across the street to Texas Station to burn up some match play coupons. I put mine on the pass line at craps. A shooter was in the middle of a good roll and he hit the point after a few tosses. I played a second coupon on black at roulette and lost. Mike played a few coupons too and we got out of there. It was nice to play coupons and not have the dealers or pit critters sweat them.

From Texas it was onward to the Pinball Hall of Fame. I had arranged a meet with LVA member roblobue to meet here at about 3pm to hang out and play some classic pinball games.

After leaving the Hall of Fame we went up to Suncoast to meet our buddy Buddha and his wife for dinner at the buffet. He racked up a few free ones with the ACG coupon that gives a free buffet for any quad on video poker. I haven’t had this buffet in years either and really haven’t been here since back in the days when I made this place my home. Tonight was seafood night but there were plenty of other items to choose from. I thought the food here was better than Fiesta Rancho but I wasn’t that hungry since I was still a little full from lunch. I don’t usually do 2 buffets in a trip, never mind 2 in a day!

While I was there tonight I as supposed to play a point on my card to collect my birthday bonus points and like a dumb ass I forgot. I remembered when I on my way to Silverton.

After dinner Mike went with Buddha and Nancy to Rampart and I went to Silverton to meet up with my friends Anne and Steve. We played some video poker and hung out. I tried my luck on a 7/5 bonus bank with a $2000 progressive with no luck. I wasn’t hitting many quads but did get over an hour of play out of $100. I switched over to deuces wild bonus poker next to Steve and had a decent run. I managed to hit deuces and a few bonus 5 of a kinds. This game is volatile though and I cashed out with a small $20 win.

It was getting late so Steve & Anne went home and I came back downtown. I met up with Rich and Mike at Main Street Station at the Boar Bar. The plan here was to have a few drinks and play a little VP and head to bed. Well we did that but it was more than just a few drinks. We hung out here until 6am and just a few too many drinks. Bob the bartender makes some great white Russians and this was going to hurt in the morning! I finished up VP with $65 win though and hit 6 quads. My scratch cards were all for $2 except one which was for $5.

On the way through the casino we stumbled past a dead craps game. Just for shits and giggles and we both bought in for $100. I never played this game in this condition before but it was fun. Unfortunately neither one of us hit many numbers and the money ran out too fast. It was fun though and the crew had a blast making fun of us too. On the way up the escalator I looked down and saw them still laughing their asses off. All in all it was a fun night and I finally got to bed at about 6:30am. It’s going to be a tough one to get up tomorrow morning!

Total win/loss for the day $0
Total comps for the day $75
