Day 2
Sunday December 16, 2007

Today my plan was to head up to the Cannery and play video poker and redeem some points for gift cards in the Neighborhood Partners promotion. This is one of my favorite promos to play.

On the way to the Cannery I stopped off at Jack in the Box for a quick 2 taco lunch (even though it was 10:30am). This is one of my favorite quick lunches in town probably because it’s only $1 and we don’t have Jack in the Box back home.

When I got to the Cannery I started out with 8/5 bonus five play. Things started out rough but the leveled off a bit. I played on the same $200 the entire session but quads were lacking again. I wasn’t getting many quads and few dealt winners. I was getting lucky with drawing winners though. I cycled a little over 7k through the machine and maxed out on the promo losing $70 on video poker. This was offset with $80 in gift cards. I wanted to get Wal-Mart but they were out so I took Lowe’s. I wasn’t thrilled with this but I go to Lowe’s quite a bit so it’s not a terrible thing.

I also had some match plays to burn so I hit the roulette table and played $10 on black and it came in for a nice $20 win. All in all I lost only $50 cash and walked out with $80 in gift cards .Not exactly how I had planned it but not a bad day.

After I left the Cannery I went to the Pinball Hall of Fame. This has become one of my favorite non gambling activities in town. I almost cried when I saw one of my favorite machines was gone, but it wasn’t really gone. It was just relocated! I stayed here for a few hours and as always had a fun time playing a variety of pinball and video games.

From the Pinball Hall of Fame it was on to Circuit City and Best Buy to pick up NNylons’ Christmas present. This gift is sure to be a hit and will score me huge points!

The next stop was back to Main Street Station to take a break and then to get some dinner at the Triple 7. I went with my favorite Filet Mignon Sandwich with French Fries. I sat at the bar and the service was pretty good as was the food. I also had one of the microbrews and I have to say, after trying them all over the years, I think they are all nasty! I’m not a huge beer fan so that may be the reason.

After dinner it was time for more video poker and I hit the triple plays instead of the five plays. I haven’t been having much luck the last few days on the fives so I figured I’d drop back to triple and see if things level off a bit. They didn’t and my lack of quads continues to haunt me. I dropped $200 here in no time and only hit one quad.

For a change of pace I hit some penny slots and oddly was doing very well on these. I finished the session up $50 after hitting a bonus round on Gold Fish for 6100 coins.

Next I tried the triple plays again but this time on the 10 coin version, the equivalent of a 50-cent machine. I dropped another $200 on these and hit zero quads and got just over 1k coin in.

Figuring VP wasn’t my game this week I walked over to the California and played some double deck blackjack. It was a $5 game and I played 2 hands at $10 - $15 each. Things were decent here and I was getting dealt good hands. The downfall was losing all my doubles. Thing turned around though and I pressed my bets up to $30 each. I as up over $300 and the table seemed like it was turning so I got out of there with a $200 win and came back over to Main Street Station.

I played at the Boar Bar and chose the 7/5 bonus progressives at the dollar level. I was doing ok, not hitting anything big but getting action for my money. Then things turned bad. I was playing for over and hour and hit no quads and feeding in bill after bill. I finally got to a point where I switched to DDB and I did finally hit a quad for $250 but it was too little too late. I switched back to bonus and lost everything calling it quits losing $500 for the session and getting killed for the day. Only hitting two quads all night was a total killer. I got two scratch cards for $2 and $3.

Total win/loss for the day -$700
Total comps for the day $148
