Day 6 Thursday December 19, 2002

I slept in late today until noon and then got ready. I don’t have much planned today other than to go out for a while collecting some chips and going to a meet that was organized on the Las Vegas Advisor message boards. Like the Las Vegas Talk meet this one is at the Monte Carlo too at 4pm.

I got up to the strip a little early so I could get some chips at the casinos I missed the other day when I was up here. I parked over at the Tropicana and walked over to the San Remo. I played a little bit of craps here and lost quick. It was getting close to meet time and I walked over to the Monte Carlo. I went through the Tropicana, and MGM Grand, then through NYNY. While I was waiting to cross the street from NYNY to Monte Carlo some genius decided there was no traffic so he and his friends decided to cross against the light. That’s when the traffic light changed and a cab almost splattered them all over the street. I thought it was great. People will never learn.

I was early to the Monte Carlo so I took $10 and played, of all things, a few slot machines. I lost $5 on this and then headed to the meet. There was a huge turn out for this meet and everyone seemed to be having a good time. It lasted for quite a while before everyone went their own way.

I walked back over to my car stopping at MGM and the Tropicana to grab some chips then drove back to the Hard Rock where I would be staying the rest of the night.

The first thing I did was stop at the slot club and collect my 6 pack coupon sheet and get $30 in free play that came with the room. It was dinnertime now and I had the $25 food comp they sent me so it was over to Mr. Lucky’s 24/7 coffee shop. Normally I would just order the steak and shrimp special but this comp was use it or lose it so I went all out. I started with Tupelo Chicken (chicken fingers with a fancy name) and ordered the prime rib. The chicken was excellent but the prime rib was tough. I was expecting a better cut based on the price being $14. This cut had the quality of a late night special with a price of $4.99. I got a piece of chocolate cake to go for later.

After dinner I played my free play on a quarter 9/6 jacks or better. I didn’t do too well even though I hit a quad. One thing I don’t like is the large amount of play you need here to get a point on your slot card. It’s $200 per point on VP and there is no way to know how close to getting the point you are.

My next move was over to the craps table. This table was up and down with a few real low points and a few high points. After over 3 hours I was beat out of $300 and called it a day as far as gambling goes. This was my first losing day since I got here.

When I got to the room I was tired and ready to go to bed but I had the Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom that I had yet to use so I filled it up and hopped in with the chocolate cake I ordered earlier. I was also able to adjust the angle of the TV so I could watch TV while I was in there. This was relaxing and after the Jacuzzi it was about 3:30am and time for bed. I have to get up a little early tomorrow and pack up since it’s moving day again. It’s a damn shame I’ll have to leave this great suite.

Total win/loss for the day -$350
Total comps for the day $123
