Day 2

Meets:
Today there was a meet at the Orleans that was organized on the Las Vegas Advisor Discussion Boards. Starting time was at 12 noon. I hung out here for a while before me and Yahtzee Mike left for the Rio.

Dining:
Before the meet I grabbed a quick hot dog from the cart in the Orleans sports book. This is a pretty good deal at 75 cents!

For dinner me and Yahtzee Mike tried out the newly renovated All American Bar and Grill at the Rio. They have a pretty limited menu with mostly burgers. I got the ½ rack of ribs with mashed potatoes. The ribs were great and the meat fell right off the bone.

Gaming:
Before the meet today I had a few minutes to spare so I popped a ten into a penny Othello slot machine. I had played these online and thought they were fun. I was only playing 1 coin per line and things worked out here. I hit a few bonus rounds and had one spin that got me 1200 coins. I cashed out with a $12.75 win!

After the meet I went over to the Rio with Mike. He was staying there and I wanted to get some play in. I was close to hitting platinum status for next year and they also sent me a coupon for 300 tier points. Unfortunately they have removed my favorite progressive bank of machines since my last trip there. While scrounging around for something to play Mike stumbled upon some 8/5 bonus buried in some multi games. I played for a little over 3 hours and finished with a $150 loss.

After dinner we headed up to the Cannery. They have a promotion where if you earn 800 points you get a free jacket. I played FPDW. I was lucky enough to hit the card of the day (6). When I called over a change person she said they weren’t going to pay me because it was a 100% game. I asked for a supervisor and he paid me. What the problem turned out to be is, about 2 weeks ago they stopped paying out the card of the day bonus on the full pay games. They got a ton of complaints so started paying it out again and the change person I had didn’t know they changed back to the original way. After the bonus I was down $75 and then found they were out of jackets again and were substituting other logo wear. I got a black T-shirt with the Cannery logo.
