Day 5
Wednesday December 19, 2007

Today is moving day so I finished packing up my stuff and hit the lobby at Main Street to use their free wireless internet since it’s been 5 days since I was last online.

After leaving Main Street Station it was off to the Hard Rock where I’ll be staying for the next 5 nights. Originally I wasn’t going to stay here this trip but my host got a hold of me and said he’d get me a suite for my birthday. Since NNylons is arriving tomorrow and this is our first trip together I thought it would be really cool to stay at one of my favorite places with her, in a suite. Normally suites go to waste on me because I’m alone and I’m never in the room except to sleep.

When I got there I met up with Rich and Dawn at the video poker machines. We hung out there for a while and then I went to check in.

I checked in at the VIP room and in less than 2 minutes was on my way to room 758. This room was identical to the suite I had a few years ago and was a little disappointing. I felt this room was in real need of renovating as it was worn, and pained over countless times. It featured a living room with a wall unit containing a DVD player and a 27 inch TV. I have to say I was a little disappointed that they never put a flat screen in this room. There was also a half circle sectional sofa, huge round coffee table and a sitting chair. On the other side of the room there was a wet bar area with over priced mini bar items, a stocked fridge and a sink.

The bedroom was standard Hard Rock issue with a king bed, nightstands, a wall unit, closet combination with lighted closets and a 19 inch TV. Again, no flat panel was a disappointment. There is also a coffee table and a sitting chair.

In the bathroom there is a large counter with 2 sinks, make up mirror, stool, and hair dryer. The tub has Jacuzzi jets, the standing shower stall was large enough to fit 6 people in and the toilet is tucked into its own corner.

When I was getting situated, room service came to the room with a cart of sodas and vodka as a birthday gift from my host. I thought this was pretty nice of him and it’s about time he started treating me this way!

I got settled into the room and hit the casino. I met Rich and Dawn at the center bar. They had left and returned and were playing video poker. After a visit the craps table was calling our name. I bought in and things were choppy. I was shooting well today most times. One roll I was able hit 3 points and various other number but other players couldn’t seem to shoot. They’ve also added the fire bet here at the Hard Rock to further confuse the clueless players. I was making place bets tonight as opposed to come bets and this kind of saved me and kept my play alive longer. I managed to play for a little over 4 hours but lost $1100 in the process.

Since I hadn’t eaten all day (I wasn’t feeling well the last few days) I hit Mr. Lucky’s and got myself and $1100 bowl of soup. It tasted like crap like most $1000 meals do. The service in here was awful tonight too. I’m not sure if they were short staffed or if the staff sucked.

I finally got up to bed around 2am after a long day.

Total win/loss for the day -$1100
Total comps for the day $153
