Day 7
Wednesday December 20, 2006

Today I had to actually move over to Circus – Circus where I’ll be for the next 2 nights. I really hate these 2 night stays especially after I got used to the longer 5 night stays I had been getting at the Harrah*s properties.

When I got to Circus – Circus I got a turkey sandwich and a chicken noodle soup and the Westside Deli.

Next, I had to activate my free play and found some machines to play in the Skyrise Casino that had aces & eights on them with sequential royal progressives and a progressive for the royal on them. I managed to turn my $400 of free play into $420 of real money without hitting any quads.

Since today is 2X points over at Slots-a-Fun I went over there to play some triple/five play video poker. I don’t know why but for some reason like playing here. The best game on these is 9/6 jacks. This machine started out rough from the beginning and it was streaky too. The dealt hands weren’t showing up and I was getting way too many hands in a row without any hits at all. I kept feeding in bill after bill saying good bye to the money I got from my free play. I did hit a few quads including aces 4 times (3 with a kicker) and that hurt. I also hit the card of the day 3 times for an extra $10 each. After dropping $400 I decided to try 1 more $100 bill and play some super streaky aces bonus game hoping for a few quads. It worked out although I didn’t get aces but did hit a few quads and got back into it. I switched back to jacks or better and got on a decent run getting the meter back up to almost $400. Things remained streaky until I got dealt 4 to a royal and caught one on line 5. I played a little longer but the game stayed streaky and I cashed out just $100 of the $500 I fed in. All in all I only lost the money they gave me from the free play plus I had the money for the card of the day quads I hit. Not a great session but hitting a royal is always great.

After I cashed out I took a short break before going to get something to eat at the Casino Café (formerly the Pink Pony). This place has been totally renovated since the last time I was here. Unfortunately there was no wait to get in. I was hoping I could cut in front of everyone with my VIP line pass. I had the fried chicken dinner that came with soup or salad (I had tomato soup), vegetables and potato. Everything was good here tonight from the service to the meal.

I was going to play more of the five plays over at Slots-A-Fun after dinner but decided I didn’t want to lose the royal money I made earlier. Instead I got a few bucks in quarters and played Flip-It. This is almost always a losing game but it’s fun and $10 lasted close to an hour!

On my way back through I Circus – Circus I stopped by the slot club to cash out my points. With the One Card going to the MGM card I don’t want to take any chances leaving points on my card. I cashed everything out for another $103 adding to today’s win.

Wanting to protect today’s gains I did my standard bankroll preserving thing. I went out to the Pinball Hall of Fame. I hung out here for a few hours and did what I had planned; preserve the wins from this afternoon.

When I left the Pinball Hall of Fame and got into my car the radio wasn’t coming on. I have no idea why but this isn’t good. Driving around town for the next week with no radio won’t work. Now tomorrow I’m probably going to have to waste time and take this car back to Alamo and either get it fixed or exchange this car.

Total win/loss for the day $1150
Total comps for the day $599
