Day 4
Tuesday December 21, 2004

Hotel:
Today I have to check into the Sahara. While I won’t be staying here they sent me an offer for 2 free nights and $50 in free play. Although I don’t need the room you have to be a guest to get the free play.

Dining:

For lunch I went to the Caravan Room at Sahara. I used some comp dollars for a BLT and a bowl of soup. Today’s soup of the day was Potato Cheddar. It was pretty good but very filling.

For dinner I went to Twin Creeks at Silverton with my friend Anne. I had never been here before but heard good things about it. I ordered the 18oz Pork Chop. The meal came with salad (served family style) and 2 side dishes. I went with the rice and creamed spinach. The food was really good but the creamed spinach was weak. I thought it had too much garlic and not wasn’t creamy enough. I finished off the dinner with a slice of cheesecake.

Gaming:

I started my day off at Sahara with a $50 for $40 coupon. For $40 in cash you get $50 in no cash value chips. You can use them on all table games and they stay in play until you lose them. I played some blackjack with these and the dealer was breaking quite a bit and I was getting good cards. I also used a $5 match play and won that. Overall I finished ahead by $65.

Next up was to use the $50 in free play they gave me. Instead of VP I tried out a Price is Right slot machine. I didn’t do well here at all and managed to turn the $50 of free play into $13 of real money.

From Sahara I went over to the Hard Rock to play some craps. I also had $35 in slot play and a $50 match play to use that they sent me in the mail. I started off by using the free play on some video poker. I had a few decent hits and turned that $35 of free play into $101.

Next up was craps. I bought in and things were good. Lots of numbers were getting hit. I got the dice and had a pretty good roll myself. I only had the dice for about 10 minutes but it was a dead table and things moved fast. I made 4 points and various other numbers. The next time the dice came around the table I used my $50 match play on the line. Since I was up quite a bit at this point I went for the full $50 and on my come out roll hit a 7 for a nice $100 win! I had a few rolls but this time wasn’t ½ as good as it was the first time I got the dice. I was going to cash out shortly after this roll but as I was quitting it was my turn to roll again. I took a shot at a big bet and put $25 on the line. My point was 6. I put $25 on the come line and rolled an 8. I had full odds on both of these numbers. Too bad I suck and sevened out on my next roll. This roll could have been huge for me but of course it wasn’t. I finished out the session with an $850 win.

After dinner at Silverton I played a little video poker with Anne. Silverton sent me a coupon good for $75 cash so I cashed that in first. I played some 8/5 bonus. I got quite a bit of play but dropped $100. The quads just weren’t hitting enough to get ahead and stay ahead. After Anne left I hit the craps table. This table was rough and I was down almost $200 before it turned. After things turned around I cashed out with a small $32 win.

From the Silverton I headed down to Slots-a-Fun. After midnight would be the start of 2X points for Wednesday. I ran into my friends Rich and Dawn who had just arrived in town shortly before. We hit the 9/6 jacks or better triple plays. I was hitting my fair share of quads and getting a good amount of dealt hands. I was dealt one hand that had a pair of kings and 4 to a royal. I dropped the off suited king and popped a royal on the bottom line for $1,000 to end the 105,000 hand dry spell I was in. I finished this session with a nice $800 win.

Total win/loss for the day $1700
Total comps for the day $285
